Plane to train, first stop Valencia. Hot but very beautiful.

I Participated in My first Sound Bath today with Luna Therapies Ltd. An hour and half of pure unwind. I mainly live life at 100 mph . But this afternoon I stopped. Listened and unwound.Jess used sound bowls and gongs to resonate. Loved it.

What an out standing performance at .St John's Moor Allerton. From our very newest students who have never performed before (age 5) to our students who our sadly leaving to go to uni(aged 18) The performance was flawless. In the most beautiful of buildings . With the most friendly warm audience. Sadly I didn’t manage to get any photos of our littlest performance but they were soo good. It was so lovely to see our smallest performers watch our senior students perform.

RAISE THE ROOF FUND RAISING TOTAL.
Back in early March I wrote an email to all my student’s families regarding our rented premises. The roof had started to leek and the scouts ( who I rent the premises from did not think they had the funds to have the much needed repairs done)
I hoped that Danceworks could raise the money for the repair . Our goal was to raise £2200.

From March onwards we have done many fund raising activities.
A raffle, 3 discos involving 120 children( not all at once that would have given me nightmares)
Musical Theatre Workshops with Russell Dickson. Pamper workshops hosted by Emily Godfrey from The secret garden and a movie Night for our senior students .
Many people helped us a long the way.

Christine Brown and her merry band of face painting senior students , must have painted over 80 faces as well as sticking a fare few disco tattoos.
Emily Godfrey ran our pamper sessions donating her time and products .
Adam Bradshaw lent us the most amazing screen and projector, taking over an hour to set up for our movie night.
Ellie Stewart’s grandma donated over 120 fruit shoots to sell at our discos.
My senior students gave up there time to help me run the discos. Eva, Leo, charis Isabelle , Sophie , Emily, Layla, Freya, Natalia ,Rose, Zara, Hannah, Mila , Sharm.Aoife. Oh and DJ pineapple aka Elycia Jakes.

I have just added all the events up and our Grand total is £2386.74

Work on the roof will start late July.

It has been exhausting but so much fun.
It has taught me that maybe as a dance school we need to have a couple of social events per year , as students don’t have a place to hang out with their friends and just enjoy each other’s company.
I am so very grateful for everyone’s support . A very big thank you to our dance school community for all you have done. Thank you. X

Please come and watch our mini performance ,from seniors to some of our youngest students will be performing at 3pm in the church. There are lots of fun stalls , And craft activities to do.

Raising money for the roof. Pamper sessions. The only autopsy that was performed was on a bath bomb 😂 (see right picture) Nice to see students just chilling and enjoying each others company. A massive thank you to Emily Godfrey (the secret garden) .

Sometimes I get it wrong, I managed to tell little Alma the wrong time for her lesson , so she ended up having a go at grade 6.
Two things , my senior students made her feel so welcome and second Alma was amazing , she gave it her all and smiled from the beginning to the end of class. The pleasure of doing a job you love.

Very busy day today. We had the junior workshop with Russell Dickson and this afternoon the mini Groover Disco!! Loved seeing everyone having a good time. Especially the parents grooving with their mini movers.
We now have the grand total of £2004.60 for our raising the roof fund.
A special shout out to Christine Brown who has personally face painted at least 80 faces!!!And all my senior students who have all volunteered to help out at the discos. Our dance community is special.

We still have a couple events to planned before the summer.

Saturday classes.
There is roadworks on the Harrogate road ( BP ) roundabout.
As well as the food fest in Roundhay.

2nd Musical theatre workshop with Russell Dickson. After watching the Show at the Alhambra last night , it was a pleasure to see how much students learnt. So much hard work. One more workshop to go!
