Due to high external ground levels we installed a P8 tanking membrane along with aqua channels leading into the nearby land drain. Usually on any new build we recommend structural Waterproofing to be completed from the external side, unfortunately this was inaccessible on this project hence the internal waterproofing method.

There is always a solution to every situation.

We are now taking bookings for remedial damp proofing work from April onwards, all basement conversions are from July onwards. Please bear this in mind when planning any works.

We are currently looking to recruit an apprentice damp proofing technician to join our ever growing team.

As a member of our team, you will be serving our customers nationwide, any applicants must be able to make there own way to our offices/unit which is based in Hunslet/Leeds.

We do not require you to have a full UK driving license although we would expect you to be pass ready within 12 months of any start date.

Your main role would include -

- Hacking off damp plaster work.

- Breaking out basement floors, preparing any walls for the installation of our tanking membrane.

- Cleaning site

- Installing chemical damp proof courses.

You will be working alongside an experienced technician and must be willing to learn.

You will be taught the damp proofing trade accordingly and given new independent tasks depending on your ability and willingness to learn, any successful applicants will be required to complete the appropriate damp proofing courses within first two years of starting.

Starting salary of any successful Apprentice will be £16,000. This will rise in accordance with your skill set.

Another Basement structurally waterproofed in accordance with BS8102, quick turnaround on this one!, The previous builders had installed a visqueen behind the stud walls which caused problems throughout. Unfortunately everything had to be ripped out and started again, personally I see this so many times on basements we visit!.

To anyone out there please ensure you employ the correct tradesmen to carry out any damp proofing works, there is so many cowboys out there who genuinely don't have a clue what they are doing!. Nobody is perfect including ourselves and from time to time mistakes do happen but trusting a cowboy to convert your basement area will be a very costly mistake.

Another day another basement for the team !!,, Please stop letting cowboys convert your basements. Visqueen does not work long term, condensation builds up behind the visqueen causing timbers to sweat and decay overtime.

Another rip out of a basement already converted into a kitchen area, no channelling system in place, no membrane on the walls or floor, tiles popping up in places, damp walls throughout, concrete floor severely damp.

Another Basement structurally waterproofed in accordance with BS8102. The team worked over the weekend to get this one completed on time down in Peterborough.

Unfortunately as we see very often our customer had fallen victim to some cowboys who attempted to stop the water ingress by rendering the basement walls and installing a membrane to the external wall 🤦.

The membranes we install are designed to control the flow of water to a desired destination. We use channelling systems to divert the water into a chamber housing a sump pump. You can never totally stop water ingress but you can control and divert it!.

Basement Conversion. The team making a start on clearing out this recently converted basement kitchen. Although the previous company had done a really good job installing the kitchen and converting the basement unfortunately they forgot about the small issue of physical water ingress 😔! Due to the basement flooding we are having to start from scratch, structurally waterproofing all walls and floors in accordance with BS8102.
