A vacancy has a risen for a Principal/Senior Planner to join Sirius Planning, based out of our Leeds office.

As a Chartered Planner within the Sirius Group (an employee owned company), you will be part of a busy planning team, handling a varied range of planning applications for both strategic and immediate projects.

Projects will be varied however predominantly energy infrastructure led, with some waste management, mineral and commercial schemes.

The role offers a broad range of responsibility for all aspects of the development process including planning policy and appraisal work, land promotion, provision of planning consultancy services, along with detailed development management and project delivery.

You will be required to co-ordinate, and prepare planning applications and environmental impact assessments, develop relationships with clients, local authorities, stakeholders and local communities.

You will also be required to manage sub-consultants, undertake site appraisals, and provide strategic and tactical planning advice to clients at senior levels. You will be working closely with our other Chartered Planners and Landscape Architects, and help manage and deliver new projects as part of our planned growth.

The successful applicant will ideally be RTPI qualified with a Degree / Masters planning qualification, a robust knowledge of the planning system, and experience gained preferably in the energy, waste, minerals commercial and residential sectors.

Sirius Planning is a well established consultancy with an experienced planning and landscape team, and able to draw on the environmental expertise across the Sirius Group. Sirius Planning has developed excellent relationships with its expanding client base and has a significant pipeline of exciting projects to deliver.

The Radon Council was set up with the view to improving standards within the radon protection industry, we at Sirius are therefore looking forward to assisting with these matters and continuing the good work already undertaken by The Radon Council.

In addition, we have also had our British Verification Council (BVC) membership renewed for the next 12months and as such we look forward to working with the BVC’s committee in improving best practice and industry guidance within the ground gas verification field.
