If you see a status 1 on your credit file, it refers to a payment which has been made within one month late. A status 1 is considered a mild form of adverse credit history by lenders. Since this sort of thing is super common, and often down to human error, one stats 1 on its own is very unlikely to affect you getting a mortgage at a great rate. As excited as you'll be to move in, before you do, if you need to refresh the pain, arrange this beforehand. It'll be much easier for you to have the painter and decorators do their work without getting in your way, and you won't have to be around those freshly painted smells!

Liabilities are essentially debts. It is ok to have a reasonable amount of liabilities when applying for a mortgage - it's perfectly normal to have a loan for your car for example. As long as you're paying your monthly repayments on time, this shouldn't cause you any problems. If you have missed payments on your liabilities, you may find it more difficult to get a mortgage with a highstreet lender, but it's certainly still possible with other lenders on the market! Did you know our experts also specialise in life insurance? Getting covered can be a huge reassurance for those with family, and it pays off to get covered sooner rather than later. For example, a mum at 30 years old can expect to pay around £10 per month for a policy, but if she waits until she's 33, she can expect to pay around double that.
