We have had a busy week this week. We have turned our 2 small indoors into a massive 20x 60m indoor arena.
We have also made 6 more summer Paddocks to keep the horses fat and happy 😊

Swithens Farm Livery Prices
Effective from 1st November 2022
FULL LIVERY:
7 days full livery with no feed £115.00 per week
Monday to Friday full livery with no feed £100.00 per week
DIY:
Stable & tack locker £34.00 per week
Hay in paddock (split between all horses November to May) £20.00 per bale
Staff to feed, change rugs and turn out or bring in £2.50 per day If less than 24 hours’ notice given for services, this will be charged double.
Grass livery (May to October only):
£38.00 per week 13.2hh and above
£34.00 per week 13.1hh and below
Individual paddock additional £9.00 per week
Dentist, vet or farrier £6.00 plus time holding at £20 per hour pro rata
Clipping - £2.00 per horse clipped to be paid for electricity
Small Straw £3.00 per bale
Small Hay £4.00 per bale
Small haylage £5.50 per bale
Haynet 12lb in weight £3.00
Midi straw £15.00 per bale
Midi hay £20.00 per bale

Staff vacancy
We are currently looking for a weekend worker. Duties include mucking out, turn out / bring in. Sole charge in summer. Previous experience with horses a must. More hours/ days available over winter months.

As some of you may know nicola has moved on from running the livery yard. Sam and Angela will be running it going forward. Nicolas number is now the yard number so any queries please feel free to call or message. We will be updating people of any changes we will be making and when we are free from strangles shortly. Watch this space.

I have just been informed a horse on the yard has tested positive for strangles. There is to be no movement of horses on or off the yard and bio security measures are in place. Hopefully the outbreak has been contained. All horses will be tested before the yard will re open.

Thank you to Lyndsey and Janice for arranging the Christmas pony party yesterday. A great time was had by all.

We currently have availability for DIY livery.
Large indoor stables with individual tack lockers and hay and straw delivered to your door weekly.
All year turnout and fulltime turn out May to October with plenty of grass.
Hay out in the fields through the winter.

Definitely a day to ride indoors today! Elvis is even more handsome under the new lights.

The new lights in the indoor arena are energy efficient and super bright. We've also repaired the door and roof.

Yesterday was Pam's last day on the yard after 5 years. She came here tempory and has finally moved on. Good luck in your new job! (sorry for the rubbish photo 🙈)

Please can all liveries be aware that the livery price increase is effective from Sunday 1st August.

Next week the Minster Yard visit will be Tuesday 20th not on the Monday.

All the horses are due a worm egg count. Samples will be sent to Minster but please can you let me know if you wish to send them off separately and give me a copy of the results. The samples need to be collected on a Sunday to go on the Monday. I will leave bags outside the feed room door. Please write your horses name clearly on the bag and leave in in the bin provided outside the feed room. Please can everyone provide a sample by Sunday 31st July.

Liveries can now lunge in the arena 3 paddock. We have put down surface to lunge on. No loose schooling please.

Liveries can now park in the new livery parking area behind the horse walker and enter the yard through the gate at the side of the horse walker. The new car park is not yet finished but there is plenty of space while the farm shop is busy.

Lovely to see the horses relaxing on a morning.

We've plenty of grass available. Fly and Presley are enjoying their new field in the triangle.

As part of ongoing improvments to the yard we have put tarmac down to improve the entrance to one of the stable blocks. Please can liveries refrain from tipping water here and help us keep the area clean.
