Toby always wore a cosmetic prosthesis, but as he grew older, he became increasingly self-conscious about his appearance. It was from this point he wanted a prosthesis that looked as realistic as possible.

Did you know that approximately 1 in every 1000 babies born in the UK is born with Clubfoot? 😨

Also known as Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (CTEV), this condition can have a significant impact if left untreated. The need to raise awareness of the condition is important, which is exactly what the Ponseti International Association set out to do, and have done since June 2013.

As part of Limb Loss Awareness Month, we want to shine a light on those whose lives have been affected by traumatic limb loss, which can disrupt even the simplest of tasks every day.

Jade was diagnosed with bone cancer at just 19 years old resulting in the transfemoral amputation of her left leg. She was initially anxious about the limitations she may come to face, however, her life changed in a heartbeat after joining a clinical trial for the PROTEOR QUATTRO!

Today is Earth Day, a day to raise awareness and demonstrate support for protecting the Earth’s natural resources.

Here at Steeper, we are constantly looking for ways to minimise our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable earth!

Steeper team members recently travelled to Ukraine, coming together with the UNBROKEN Clinic.

Over the course of 4 days, our team provided upper limb prosthetic training and supported Ukrainian colleagues with 2 of their patients - 49 year old Oleksiy who sadly lost his limb as a result of the war, and 10 year old Vladislav who lost his limb due to an electric shock.

It was a successful week for all, and we look forward to a long-lasting relationship with UNBROKEN💛

On Sunday 21st April, Ian Rodger and Paul Bisby will be taking on all 26.2 miles of the London Marathon 2024 in aid of raising money for our charity partner, Action for Children 🌟

The duo have a massive fundraising goal to achieve over the next month, and they need your help! 💪

Every donation, big or small, will make an impact - Action for Children helps in all aspects of a child’s life from adoption and fostering services, through to early years care, mental health for young minds and helping families with disabled children.

At 18 years old, Rebecca had her sights firmly set on a professional cricketing career, that was until running, walking, and even standing for any period of time became increasingly painful.

Rebecca was born with talipes (commonly known as club foot) but after a successful corrective surgery and subsequent orthotic treatment, she had next to no issues with her foot and ankle growing up. Little did she know, her ankle was slowly deteriorating.

The prospect of rerouting her entire life plan shook Rebecca, but sporting success has always been her destiny. With the help of her Biomechanic Specialist and Kate Chauhan, Specialist Orthotist at Steeper Clinic, an exciting next chapter would begin.

Today marks the 112th annual celebration of International Women's Day, a day dedicated to educating and raising awareness about equality and discrimination towards women and girls, as well as celebrating women's achievements around the world.

We wanted to take part by highlighting some of the successes of our patients, employees and partners such as Kate Chauhan and Caroline Clark who have both received BAPO Prosthetist and Orthotist of the Year awards!

Elsie is a local cycling superstar 🚴‍♀️ whose name is already popular throughout the cycling industry, with the para-cycling team inviting her to in-house development camps and, in just two years, she'll be ready to race adults at national para-cycling events!

And Rebecca is an aspiring Team GB Paralympic cyclist. She says, "One of my goals is to progress into the World Class Performance Squad within the next couple of years. My ultimate dream is to be selected for Team GB's 2028 Paralympic team so I've got a lot of hard work to put in between now and then!" ✨
