Joining TransLeeds/TransPrideLeeds in Leeds Pride Parade 2024?

Here's what you need to know...

The Parade is split into six groups and TL/TPL are in Group 2.

We're meeting at the top of Calverley Street which is between the Town Hall and the Library.

You can arrive from 11am onwards but you MUST be there no later than 11.45am. The Parade sets off between 12pm and 12.15pm.

Bring water, bring banners/placards and have a safe and happy Pride!

Disability Pride Month is a celebration of disabled people.

It's about embracing disabled identity. And rejecting the negative attitudes that hold disabled people back.

It gives us opportunities to raise awareness and to have positive conversations about disability.

But it looks different for everyone. For some it can mean self-acceptance. For others, overcoming challenges or being part of disabled communities.

You might always feel it, or not. It's a journey. And it’s okay if it doesn’t resonate with you at all. There’s no ‘right’ way to experience pride.

When 3 in 4 disabled people have experienced negative attitudes, it's an important time to hear stories and call for change.

Whatever your reason for celebrating Disability Pride Month, and no matter where you are on that journey, we’re glad to have you with us 💜

On the 15th of September, we will be walking 7 miles in honour of our great number seven Rob Burrow around Roundhay and Moortown in the shape of a Rhino 🦏 🏉

We will be meeting at Roundhay park gates on princes avenue at 10.30am for an 11.00 am start.
