About me
My name is Janine. I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I provide therapy face-to-face, online and via telephone to adults and young people over 18 years old. I have a Masters with Distinction in Integrative Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy which means I strictly adhere to their ethical code of conduct. As well as my private practice, I work as a relationship counsellor for Relate Bradford & Leeds.
My first session
To book a free 20 minute initial phone consultation, please contact me via email or phone. The consultation is a chance for us both to decide whether we would be a good fit for each other.
Short term counselling normally lasts for 6 - 8 sessions. If you feel you need longer term therapy, we can discuss this. I am happy to book sessions with you on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
I am happy to negotiate lower fees for unwaged, students or under-19s. Payment is made via bank transfer before our first session takes place.
I offer both daytime and evening therapy sessions during weekdays.
I also offer limited weekend appointments during the afternoons between 1-5pm.

SHIRLEY WILLSON – HOLISTIC MASSAGE THERAPIST
THE TREATMENT - Lomilomi Massage hails from the South Pacific Islands and is particularly associated with Hawaii. It is a rhythmic full-body massage done mainly with the forearms for a gentle but deep effect. Moisturising oils allow for the trademark long, gliding, continuous strokes that connect opposite ends of the body (I use Coconut, Grapeseed, Jojoba, and Castor).
QUALIFICATIONS - I am a fully insured holistic massage therapist.
Diploma in Holistic and Therapeutic Massage, Oxford School of Massage. ITEC Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, Oxford School of Massage. Postgraduate and Advanced Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage, Carrie Rowell. Advanced Hawaiian Massage, Darryl de Cunha.
WHAT TO EXPECT - We’ll work through a client form to ensure there are no contraindications, and then discuss how you are and what you would like out of the treatment. I’ll ask for your signature as permission to perform the treatment. I will leave the room so you can get undressed and onto the massage table (with a sheet to cover).
A good amount of oil is used, and various strokes glide along the full length of the body, so it works best if the client removes all their clothing for the massage. Clients will always be covered/ draped to maintain modesty. When clients prefer to keep their underwear on, I recommend wearing something old and dark, as it will get oily. After the massage, I will clean your feet before you get up and get dressed (no rush). I can provide cloths if you would like to wipe the excess oil off your body (most people leave it to soak in).
Allow 15 minutes at the beginning of the first consultation (10 minutes for successive visits) to review how you are, and what you want out of the session.

Information for young people:

Counselling is a safe meeting that we have together, where we talk about anything you would like. Nothing that we discuss is out of bounds, right or wrong. Our conversations will be stay between us, however there may be times where I have to share information if we discuss things that are unsafe. Talking about things that are difficult can be tough. If that's not for you, that's okay. I offer a range of different ways we can explore what is going on for you, such as painting, drawing, emotion cards and sand therapy. My hope is that you will feel listened to and understood, and we can try and understand things better and move forward together.

Information for parents:

I offer an introductory phone call to discuss the reasons your child need support and if I am able to help. I am committed in helping your child find a way through and supporting them to pinpoint and unpick the issues they are experiencing.

I work with clients of any age, but have particular experience working with children (age 7+) and young people. As well as working in private practice with Adults and Children, I currently work in schools and have worked for multiple counselling organisations for the past 7 years:

My name is Amandeep and I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse and a qualified EMDR therapist with over 20 years’ experience working within the NHS.

I have experience working with all age groups but most of my NHS career has been working with children aged 6 and up and their families in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Specifically, I managed and led the specialist eating disorder service for children and young people within CAMHS.

I’m Kendra, and in addition to being a therapist, I have more than a decade of experience working with children, young people, and their families in various roles, including as a Children’s Rights Advocate for Barnardo’s. I hold a first-class honours degree in Children and Young People’s Care and Education, along with a Foundation Degree in Children’s Care, Learning, and Development. My background also includes extensive knowledge and experience in safeguarding children.
During my career, I’ve supported families facing tough challenges such as anxiety, depression, financial hardship, poverty, and low self-esteem. Witnessing the profound impact of these issues on children’s mental health has been heart-wrenching. Many young individuals lose their spark for life while grappling with adverse childhood experiences or trauma, and I fully grasp the long-term damage it can cause.
Motivated by a desire to intervene early and prevent future mental health struggles, I pursued training in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. I was drawn to the solution-focused approach because it places children at the forefront, empowering them to recognise and harness their remarkable strengths. It minimises the need to dwell extensively on past trauma or problems.
