Petition: Commission NICE to Review Guidelines on Chronic Pain (Published April 2021) Around 15.5 million people suffer from Chronic Pain (Verus Arthrtis, 2021). A number of commonly used and vital treatments for pain relief and management are no longer recommended, and we believe the new guidelines do not meet the needs of people suffering from chronic pain.

I need your support on 30 October 2021. I will be participating in the Angelman Syndrome Awareness Designer Award being held at The Ritzy Brixton Oval in London. This is being held by the Fashion Designers and Craft Network in a homage to Alexander McQueen. Best British Handmade Fashion Accessories Manufacturer - West Yorkshire in the British Made Awards! A mouthful isn't it lol!

Today it's to share the reason the committee gave for me being their winning choice.

I'm touched that they took time to go over my account and realised the struggle the last 21 months have been, indeed that every day is, living with Fibromyalgia as I do. This has been the worst almost 2 years physically- which affected my mental, emotional and spiritual well-being as well, that I've had in a very long time! Anyone who knows me, knows perseverance is my first, middle and last name, but that doesn't mean it isn't hard or I don't feel like giving up sometimes. The difference is, I don't give up and I urge you, that if you are going through a difficult time at the moment, don't give up, because the only way to go from there is UP!

I'm still in the throes of the dreaded fibromyalgia flare up but at the moment I'm containing myself from not jumping over the fence ( more through it unless it's like 2 feet tall as I'm a tiddly 5 feet and dont forget the quarter inch!)

After the 21 months I've had with my health and then Covid thrown in the mix, it is amazing and I'm completely humbled and grateful to the people around me who keep giving me the strength to put one foot in front of the other sometimes crawling from pain but always- forward EVER backward NEVER!

Well it's been a minute! Apologies for the radio silence I'm currently going through a fibromyalgia flare which of course had to be the subject of our post about invisible disabilities. Please note I'm not a professional, I'm just sharing what I've experienced or am experiencing. My hope is it brings awareness to those who might not have known about fibromyalgia or indeed other invisible disabilities but also that those who are suffering know that you aren't alone and maybe help you find a way of sharing with those around you.

Lastly, if you have any suggestions of things that have helped you or groups that have helped feel free to reach out. Or if you just need a chat with someone who understands, DEFINITELY reach out!
