Hello Everyone
Not the usual Cafè post but a post that incorporates us within the town centre.
I have an update from PC Ball regarding the street preachers in Leek.
As some of you know a few people and businesses put in an official complaint against them and so tonight I have received an update.
Alan - the “main” street preacher has been in to the police station for a meeting with some hot shot solicitor from London of the same ilk as the preachers, as you can imagine these people are very clever at knowing how to get around the law to show that they have technically done nothing ‘illegal’ or as I described it, just that side of the line where nothing can be done in terms of prosecution or getting them banned from the town.

PC Ball explained that the councils environmental health department have agreed to take on the case to try and work things out with the preachers in the new year.

Any ideas and grievances with the preachers should now be aimed at the council unless a crime has been committed, then obviously the police can be called.

Finally PC Ball has said that patrols will continue to take place as he recognises that this is a problem that people in the town are not happy about.
