THE BENEFITS OF ONLINE COACHING

In a world where coaching has never been so varied and so accessible I thought I would take a quick look into the benefits of online coaching.

As a result of the recent pandemic, just to survive, a number of coaches have had to pivot their businesses and reassess their delivery models to move to provide more services online. Those who have really flourished are those who have sold the benefits to their customers and made best use of technology to deliver their services. Content creation, audience growth, nurturing, sales pages and automation are all new skills that have had to be developed to be successful.

Consumers are often sceptical about online coaching because it can feel like a faceless service and they believe they need the social interaction and security that comes with a face to face service (I know I did). Some consumers have been bitten previously by bad experiences of online coaching, whether that be lack of support; poor communication; or being let down by technology. However, it feels that the recent pandemic has forced consumers to take online coaching more seriously and the restrictions on movement and human contact have allowed online coaches to really prove their worth.

Over the past few years I have invested in a business coach and a fitness coach, both of which work exclusively online. They both provide online services in very different ways yet I get exactly what I need from both systems.

I have found that online coaching brings massive benefits to both consumer and coach. The main ones are as follows:

ACCESS TO EXPERT COACHES
For most people access to expert coaches online has to be the top benefit of online coaching.
The fact that you are able to quickly and easily connect with expert coaches from around the world expands your opportunity to achieve your goals.

LOCATION CONVENIENCE
Online coaching brings amazing convenience, because almost wherever you are, you are able to enjoy your online coaching sessions.
All you need is a computer or mobile device and a stable internet connection.

SCHEDULING EASE
Scheduling is made easier as an online coach and a consumer.
With traditional coaching, face-to-face, there are key limitations as to the timings that coaching sessions are available. Plus you incur significant 'dead time' through having to travel.

TIME EFFICIENT
Reducing travel time, having greater flexibility in scheduling, along with locational freedom. All of these save a considerable amount of that very precious commodity... time.
Time is one of the few things we cannot make more of and can never get back.

ACCESSIBLE ANYWHERE
Traditional face-to-face coaching, where clients have to go to a specific location, really restricts the availability and access to coaching services.
Online coaching is accessible from almost anywhere with the correct tools.

ANONYMITY
Online coaching brings the benefit of anonymity to those who desire it.
This is anonymity in terms of other people outside the coaching dynamic having awareness of you having coaching, particularly those seeking support in sensitive areas of their lives.

It looks to me like online coaching is here to stay so why not invest in yourself, develop and improve those skills and become the best version of you?

WHAT IS THE MOST VALUABLE BUSINESS COMMODITY?

This is subjective. There are arguments for all four of the options above and I am sure some of you can think of others to add to the list. However, in my opinion the most important commodity is TIME. Why? I hear you ask.

1. Time is so precious that you are unable to buy more. Once lost, it can never be replenished.
2. Time is also the commodity that is most often wasted by people.
3. Everybody gets the same amount of time each day (24 hours), each week (7 days), each month (28 - 31 dependent) yet we all choose to use it differently.

Are you making best use of your time? Are you doing the things you enjoy?

I know I have said it, and you have too…“I just don’t have time!” This is the common battle cry among those who never actually make a success of themselves in any field. You have time during the day or evening or when you should be sleeping that you can use to be successful. You just have to find it, its all about prioritisation.

I think we all want to acquire more of that leisure time that we desire. So how can we do it?... by working smarter.

* Plan out your time each day
* Stop wasting time on useless tasks (like scrolling through social media)
* Make use of technology
* Play to your strengths and get help with your weaknesses

"If you can't build a good business working five full days a week, working seven won't help".

I will leave you with this thought...

If you are having to work seven days a week to generate the income you require to live perhaps you need to review your business model!
