Are you currently in a calorie deficit trying to lose weight/fat?
It is important to note when in a calorie deficit and the goal is weight loss that the weight can be lost via fat loss and muscle loss.
However, losing muscle is something we DON’T WANT to happen.
We want to lose fat whilst maintaining muscle so that as individuals we still feel strong and fit and aesthetically look good.
Here are 4 key strategies to help you achieve that.
1- Diet slowly (lose fat whilst maintaining muscle)
2- Increase protein intake (1.8-2.7g of protein per kg of BW)
3- Maintain strength for as long as possible
4- Avoid excessive cardio

Protein is a macronutrient and provides 4 calories per gram.
Protein is made up of amino acids which work as building blocks for the body.
Proteins are found in every cell of the body and are needed for many important functions that allow our body to work properly. Regarding fitness and working out, the number one role protein plays is building and repairing muscle 💪🏻
Protein can be consumed via many food sources such as meat and fish but if you are looking for a plant based approach then nuts, seeds and beans are the best options for you. 🍖 🥜

I am a Sport and Exercise Science graduate as well as recently obtaining a Level 2 fitness instructing and Level 3 personal trainer qualification.
Sport and fitness has always been a passion of mine, I love being part of a team and achieving success. This new journey working as a qualified PT will provide me with the opportunity to be part of many teams working with you guys to achieve your goals and aspire to be better. I want to help and support people with the knowledge I have to attain their targets, be it weight/fat loss, building muscle or just to become fitter, and along the way interact and meet people from all walks of life, learn about others and build positive relationships.
I want us to achieve and succeed together. Through providing an excellent personal training service, whereby every individual strives towards their goals and aspirations with support from myself as well as the community, to make the fitness journey rewarding and enjoyable.
It’s all about a nice balance of hard work and fun to become the best version of yourself physically and mentally.
