Last week, our KS2 school councillors went to Lancaster Academy to take part in school council workshops. They participated in activities that worked on their communication and problem solving skills along with being able to work under pressure and to a time limit. I was really impressed with how all of their leadership skills shone through and that they quickly bonded as a team to come up with some excellent resolutions. They also created their first action plan with an idea of how they want to change the school. Everyone agreed it was a brilliant experience and they are all looking forward to developing their skills further.
Anti-Bullying Week is right around the corner, and this year’s theme is “Choose Respect” 🫡 When disputes arise among children, insults and rudeness can sometimes follow 🤬 and it’s vital for us to show them a better way. Working with the Anti-Bullying Alliance themselves, we’re bringing you expert advice on how to do exactly that.

Last week in early years we learnt about the festival of Diwali and enjoyed lots of traditional activities people who celebrate would do. We read the story of Rama and Sita, used puppets and masks to re tell the story, made Rangoli patterns, danced to music, dressed in special clothes and made our own Diva lamps to take home.
Our amazing Stars of the Week!
Well done to you all.
We would like to introduce to you our school councillors and head pupils. Last term each class from Year 1 through to Year 5 voted for a representative to be on the school council. Tomorrow some of our school council are going to another school to take part in workshops to help develop our skills and we are very excited.
Today we had a visit from Kerry at Super Scientists, she came into to show all of the children some amazing experiments and spoke to everyone about the after-school club which will be starting next week.
The smiles and cheers were huge as they watched the three different experiments and listened to the science behind them. If you would like to book your child onto science club which starts from next Monday please visit Www.superscientists.co.uk
During mental health week we thought about being kind and took part in lots of different activities that focused on this. We took part in a virtual assembly on the Friday and on the Wednesday we had a visit from a mental health practitioner. We created a kindness tree in the primary corridor and also made special gifts for those that we appreciate to show our kindness and to say thank you. The smiles were huge throughout the week and everyone was showing kindness to each other.
