Trying to maintain a balanced and healthy diet can be hard to navigate, from experience of constantly wanting to reach for the ‘easy’ option (which are usually the high in sugar snacks or meals), I have been working on making some quick and easy meals that incorporate a variety of different foods consisting of lots of protein, fibre, fruit and veg! Every section of nutrition is important and everything can be consumed with moderation and portion control.
Focusing on gut health and boosting energy levels, I’ve found that tuning into my body’s needs, regular movement, and exercise are key. While I don’t track calories or macros, I plan nourishing meals that align with my well-being goals. Remember, what works for one may not suit another, depending on individual health and fitness goals.
Reminder that this is not what my plate looks like every single day, it’s important to allow yourself to enjoy a treat, meal out or takeaway at home - this is what balance is all about! 🍔🍦
So many people across the world suffer with plantar fasciitis, this is a condition caused by repetitive strain or overuse of the thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes. Other factors like improper footwear, tight calf muscles, obesity, and high arches can also contribute to the development of plantar fasciitis. It’s important to address these factors and take steps to prevent and manage the condition.
Dry needling is a technique used to treat plantar fasciitis, a common condition causing heel pain. It involves inserting thin needles into specific trigger points in the foot muscles to relieve tension and promote healing. By targeting these trigger points, dry needling helps to reduce pain, improve blood flow, and release tightness in the plantar fascia. This can lead to decreased inflammation, increased mobility, and ultimately, a faster recovery! 😌🦶💉

Protein is an important part of anyone’s diet for many reasons, a few of these are:
🔹 reducing appetite and preventing cravings, this can be good if your goal is to lose weight or reduce fat
🔹 increasing muscle mass by stimulating recovery and growth, allowing you to become stronger and fitter
🔹 lowering the risk of high blood pressure and other health related issues
🔹 helping to repair injuries faster and allow return to sport/work sooner
How much protein should I consume a day? This will be different for everyone, depending on your age, height, weight and activity level but the general guide is to consume at least 1.2 grams per kilogram of body mass 🏋🏽
Which foods contain high amounts of protein? Naturally you can consume your protein through meat, fish, eggs, milk and nuts 🥩 🐟 🥜 However, there are ways to supplement protein such as shakes and bars alongside protein yoghurts, cereals and snacks!
This goes for any small business not just mine!
Since working as an independent sports massage therapist I’ve sadly had to experience ghosting 👻 where a client books in for treatment but no longer responds to messages and doesn’t show up appointments.
If you ever book a service at any business that you are no longer interested in, cannot afford anymore or have to cancel for any reason, let them know. It may not seem like a big deal to you at the time, but not showing up to appointments or ignoring messages can impact our work schedule and other people’s appointments 😞
So remember, it’s not cool to ghost your sports therapist, physiotherapist, personal trainer or anyone… even on Halloween 🎃

A little bit about me:
- I am a fully qualified and insured Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist
- Currently, I am in my final year of studying BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Therapy which is awarded by Loughborough University.
- I work alongside the Loughborough University Hockey Team for injury and rehabilitation
- One evening a week I’m at Loughborough College in the Sports Therapy Clinic treating external clients injuries
