Welcome to the wonderful Hannah who is the new owner of Story Imagin-ory in Somerset. More specifically Wells and the Mendips.

We are so incredibly proud to have Hannah lead our first branch outside of Leicestershire, it could not be in better hands. With a wealth of experience, and an amazing team by her side, I know this is going to be HUGE!

I can’t wait to take you on her journey and show you what it’s like to be a Story Imagin-ory franchisee. Plus, I get to have some weekends away in the Beautiful Wells!!

3 things I love about using the story sack!

🎶 The song:

We use repetitive versus which make it easy for children to pick up. Along with simple signs, it creates and sets the scene for the session.

😁 Joy

It creates the most joyful smiles and happy feeling, which is monumental for promoting brain health.

I absolutely love seeing how the group anticipates what might be inside. Sometimes, the suggestions are wild 🦄

THE CHILDREN’S COUNTRY HOUSE AT SUDBURY

📍 Main Road, Sudbury, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 5HT

This weekend we were kindly invited to The Children's Country House at Sudbury NT for their ‘Summer of play’ & had a really lovely day. This is one of our favourite NT’s - it was created for children and is packed full of things for them to see and do. They are actively encouraged to touch, take part and experience everything, making a lovely change from traditional heritage sites where you try and stop them from touching anything!

🧸 Entry included with NT membership (£13.25 pm for a family) or £24 per adult, £12 per child, under 5’s free. Keep an eye out for free NT family passes often in the paper/online.

🧸 Open school holidays, & Fri to Mon in term time (the hall is closed on Fridays in term time). Pre-booking no longer required, you just turn up.

🧸 There’s lots going on over the summer holidays, including:
🪵 Magical woodland theatre with a mixture of workshops & performances
📆27 & 28 Jul - Babbling Vagabonds Storytelling Theatre storytelling performing 'Here Be Dragons' (we loved this!)
📆1-4 Aug - HandMade Theatre 'Flying the Nest'

🧸 The Hall - inside is just as beautiful as the outside. There are lots of games, activities and child-friendly things including a huge Lego table, books in the library to read & a room with disco lights.

🧸 The Children’s Museum - packed full of interactive displays & toys. Our favourites were the ‘chimney climb’ where you crawl your way through two dark fireplaces to get a feel for what it would have been like for the real-life chimney sweeps & ‘The Space Station’ where the kids pretended to fly a rocket.

🧸 The Gardens - the grounds are beautiful with lots of green space, picnic benches, a lake & a small woodland themed playground. In the centre of the site is a lovely field with garden games.

🧸 Fairy Tale Forest Café serving meals with indoor & outdoor seating, a food van selling drinks & snacks & an ice cream parlour selling bluebells. We took our own picnic & there are lots of places to sit & eat.

🧸 Lots of super friendly staff who go out of their way to help.

🧸 Free parking.

We love playdough! Great cheap activity for the holidays x

Fancy attempting some homemade playdough?

Here's an easy recipe with 3 simple ingredients!

Want to ensure it's taste safe if you have a child that likes to eat/try the playdough? You can cook the flour before adding anything (in the microwave until its heated through) or heat all the ingredients together in a pan. Just allow it to cool before kneading!

This dough will keep for 2-3 days refrigerated.

Father’s Day is next weekend and we’re celebrating a day early with a lovely story and lots of fun activities! Bring Dad along and come as a family or let Dad take charge! Suitable for 6months-5years and older siblings are also welcome 🤗

I'll admit, I can't completely guarantee your child will be HAPPY, there is always external factors sleep, hunger, the weather (trust me, it affects us all).

It’s the last week of Term this week - so what have we got to look forward to after the Easter Holidays?

We come back with a 7 week block of fabulousness!
There’s a one off weekend special to look forward to in June - send the Dads along alone or come as a family - I’ll be recreating a fun Daddy and Me Special!
And a 5 week block of fun which takes us to the Summer Holidays!!
This year seems to be flying by already 🙈🤪

The effort my franchisees go to! I’m always so impressed ❤️

You don’t do anything extraordinary when you are in your comfort zone. Fact!

Wonderful things happen when you take leaps of faith. I lost my job almost 10 years ago now, due to government funding cuts in my sector. I was pregnant at the time and didn’t know what on earth was going to happen to me next work wise.

But in this moment of uncertainty, I was given the space to breathe, think and re evaluate everything in my life. And I decided laugh my own children’s class company, using all the skills I had gained though out my employment history.

Needless to say, it worked and I can hand on heart say I’ve never felt more free and in control of my own life. It’s amazing how much work can control you.

I think if I’d have still been in employment, I may never have taken the risk. It’s so easy to become comfortable, even if you’re miserable!

So the point of my post? Cliche, but life is so short and fragile, take action on your dreams. Leap and the net will appear!
