The 'seeds' of the MKSI community was first established through the first few majlises that were held at the residence of several families back in 1972. In 1974, the formation of MKSI (Muslim Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri) Leicester came into being through the purchase of 172 Mere Road which was used for majliases and madressa. Maulana Syed Zulqadar Razavi became the first Resident Aalim of the Jamaat.

This Sunday from 2.30pm in , the 32nd annual Muharram procession takes place. Organised by a local mosque, this peaceful procession remembers a saint called Husayn and the values he stood for. It will travel along Humberstone Gate and High St, ending at Jubilee Square.

Our Resident Aalim: Shaykh Ali Abbas Malik and Head of PACE: Br Ali Abbas Rajani represented the Jamaat.

Br Riaz Mawani (Trustee) delivered a variety of non perishable and household items at Millgate School in Knighton Fields after Ramadhan.
Millgate school supports some of the city’s most challenging students with emotional and behavioural problems, which include many Muslim boys.
