Brightest Blessings for The Winter Solstice, Alban Arthan, Yule.
Today is the shortest day of the year.
Hence the longest night.
Time to go inwards, to reflect and give gratitude for all we achieved this past year.
Take stock of our many blessings.
Time to let go of outworn ideas and habits.
Time to nourish and nurture ourselves.

When we release the old we make room for the new.
Intentions set now will grow with the waxing Sun.

☀️Journal Prompts☀️

What are you grateful for over the past year and why?

What do you need to let go of to move forward and why?

What would you like to manifest in your life and how do you propose to do it?

🕯️Yule Spell for New beginning’s🕯️

You will need a candle and a small piece of cinnamon stick.

Hold the cinnamon in your left hand and think about what has past this year.
Anything you wish to let go of, regrets, illness, sadness etc.
Say “ I leave this (give away) in the darkness,
Goddess hear my plea.
Take away my ……… and bring light back to me.”
When you have finished, bury the cinnamon outside or in a plant pot.
Now think about what you would like to bring into your life this coming year.
Light the candle and say
“As the Sun god returns, and brings rebirth,
By Air, by fire, by water, by earth.
May my wish come true and grow in light,
As does the sun after longest night.”
Allow the candle to burn down whilst visualizing your wish as already come true.
Give thanks

☀️Other activities☀️

Clean your home, recycle or give away anything you do not use.

Light a Yule Log.

Sain/smudge your home.
I like to use a Yule incense, Flat Cedar or Pine. You can also try Frankincense, Sage or whatever you feel drawn to.

☀️A simple ritual I used to do with my children and grandchildren.☀️

Wait until it is dark and turn all the lights off in your home.
Have a candle ready to light.
Sit quietly in the darkness. (Not too long, lest they get bored) lol

Ask the little ones what makes them happy, what fills their hearts with Joy?

Light the candle and say
"As the sun returns may it shine on our dreams"

Then everyone runs to the light switches, flicks them on saying
"The Sun is reborn, welcome the Sun"
Then have a little treat to celebrate.

There was always a bit of competition with my lot so make sure there is no pushing in the dark🤣
