Metric Services Engineers have been on site this week carrying out refurb work on an effluent pumping station. British Sugar PLC called us in to make repairs and renew the motors on a Mono pump & macerator set.
We fitted new Brook Crompton motors to the pumps and macerators. While removing the old motor from one of the macerators it became evident that a full refurb would be required for that unit.
The unit was removed back to Metric workshop and dismantled for inspection. We cleaned and rebuilt the unit with new extended shaft motor, oil seal, oil, mechanical seal and gaskets.
The unit was re-fitted, and a faulty control float switch was replaced. The pump set was then commissioned.

Just to say a massive thanks to everyone who supported our challenge, I'm pleased to say we have raised nearly £700 for this worthy cause.

We require full time Approved Electricians capable of working in a variety of settings.
Applicants ideally have City and Guilds Inspection and testing, will have at least 5 years’ experience and be able to work alone or with an apprentice on small projects and capable of testing their own work.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. We believe mental health is as important as physical health and it is crucial our staff feel fully supported in the workplace.

Seems fitting, that this week the first of our new Mental Health First Aiders attended a four day course to become an advocate for all our employees and be a part of our wellbeing support committee.

We are really pleased to announce that this week, we successfully passed our annual ISO audit, achieving re-certification to three standards. Thanks to our amazing team who work so hard to implement and manage our systems, whilst continually improving our processes. So much hard work is put in by them every day but the kind of feedback we get makes it all worth while.

Blower repair for James Jones Pallets

These twin stage side channel blower units are used by our client for vacuum lifting duty. They were taken out of service due to noisy operation.

In Metric Service’s workshop the units were dismantled by our engineers for inspection. Both units had excessive wear to the non-drive end bearings and the inlet filters were clogged. The motor windings were tested for insulation resistance and continuity and were both in good condition.

The blowers were rebuilt with new non-drive end and drive end bearings and the filter media was replaced.

Great to see two of our Metric Services supported cars out competing at a very wet Cadwell Park yesterday in the Javelin Sprint Series they both had a successful day with two class wins and fastest two wheel drive good enough for 4th overall. Well done guys.

Last summer we upgraded the old Bems controls at demontfort Hall in Leicester. Swapping out these Andover controllers with our bespoke controllers. Our team developed the software to suit the unique configuration of the ventilation system and attended some of the concerts and shows to fine tune the software under operating conditions. So pleased that we are now able to carry out further upgrades installing these variable speed drives on the extract fans to further enhance the environmental control while reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption. Thanks to Leicester City Council and Demontfort Hall for entrusting us with this critical project in a most famous building.

Another obsolete heating system migrated onto our bespoke this time for some student accommodation.

Before and After, we removed this old Boiler Control Panel and replaced it with this new Schneider Electric Struxureware Panel. We made some temporary measures to keep the hospital operational whilst we completed the works.

Our BEMS team have also been very busy, designing, manufacturing and installing new panels with our bespoke OSS software.

We had a really busy December installing new Transformer, Panel Boards, Containment and wiring for a major automotive manufacturing company. A great job by our team to a strict deadline.
