Today Emma has been at the beautiful setting of Barton Marina, receiving some training with Jane at Aderans in synthetic wigs.
We know it can be quite overwhelming or scary coming in to hospital for treatment, especially if you are not sure where you have to go. We have put together a little video to show you how to find the chemo suite when you arrive to the Osborne building. We hope you find it useful.
We are delighted to announce that from Monday (14th October) our new offices at 50e Blaby Road, South Wigston will be open!
We still have some things to iron out but we are looking forward to settling into our new home

If you need to talk, we’re here to listen, support and signpost every Tuesday 10-4.
Pop down to the Saffron Heath gates (60 Heathcott Road) and ring the bell. We’re here for you.
As the temperatures start to drop, if you are worried about keeping warm and the cost of fuel there are some things you can do to keep warm and people you can talk to.
Here are just a few tips from Leicester City Council
1. Draught-proof your home
warm air will always try to move somewhere colder. If we have gaps around doors and windows, the warm air will escape through the gap to the cold outside.
2. Close curtains and blinds
The glass in windows will help to keep some heat in the room – but it will also let a lot escape, especially if it is only one layer thick. Close curtains and blinds as this will help to keep warm air inside.
3. Close internal doors
Keep the warm air in the places you need it most – like the living room by keeping internal doors closed. If you can’t heat all the rooms you use, it’s important to heat the living room during the day and the bedroom just before going to sleep
4. Keep radiators clear
Make sure furniture isn’t too close to radiators. You need the room to be warm, not the sofa.
5. Warm drinks, food and clothing
A hot drink, a hot meal and a few warm layers can help you to warm up when it’s cold. Wearing several layers of thinner clothing will keep you warmer than one thicker layer.

Now the sunshine is finally here remember - Protecting yourself from the sun is very important, especially if you have had treatment for skin cancer. Macmillan and Soltan recommend using a sun cream with factor 30+ and 5 star UVA protection to support in protecting your skin in the sun. Additional measures to reduce risk associated with sun exposure should be taken.
*Macmillan’s participation in this partnership does not constitute an endorsement of Soltan products.*
