I feel as if I need to say "I'm back" and I feel good!! My posts and creations have dwindled terribly. This year has been difficult at times thanks to a couple of incidents that really knocked me back, they then had an effect on my Facebook and Instagram interactions. I am currently recharging my batteries in Corfu, in my safe and favourite place, having so much sleep it should see me through to the new year😉🤣

I haven't been totally idle during the summer Fortuitously via a FB group dedicated to Pendle Witch dolls, I met a lady, Diane, who has a stall on the Shambles market in York, at the weekends. (If you are visiting York over a weekend her stall is well worth checking out.) She was enthusiastic to see how my ladies would sell there and the idea has been a great success. Diane has been a fabulous support to me when i have wobbled. I also continue to supply Lilly’s Treasures in Scarborough with (mainly) mermaids, Karon has been selling my pieces for approx 5 years. I then have 2 new outlets. Lucy Raw Eden Apothecary takes several ladies at a time and her clients enjoy purchasing the witches that she has now started naming. Finally, a new collaboration with Jo from the Sanctuary Within
whom I will be creating some bespoke ladies for fairly soon.

I know I now need to start again on social media. My lapse in posting and the FB algorithms mean my content will not be seen as easily as it once was😟 If you wish to recieve notifications once I add my creations to sell, please check you have my page settings set correctly for you to do so . I started on Halloween and Yule makes well before this break away and have lots of new ideas buzzing round my head for further makes. I will also have some very special creations that I have been collecting embellishments for all year. L xx

I have just recieved two lovely messages from customers thanking me for the ladies they recently bought /had made. One, I cannot share the words with you but the lady sent me a picture of a previous purchase happily ensconced in her new home. The other message came from a new customer and this is what she wrote

"Oh Linda I love her. She’s gorgeous. Thank you so much. I have to have another one. Do you do sea witches at all. Happy to wait xx"

I have never really shared the very, very many messages and pictures you send me but I am going to share some in future. As many if you know I'm not very good at 'blowing my own trumpet' and I struggle with anxiety about my work, often putting my creations on facebook takes a lot of psyching up - I just need to get those big girl pants out🙄🤣. I made up this crone inspired by both Chattox and Demdike when I was creating my Pendle style witches. She then went into hiding and I have only just found her🤣🙄 her cloak is wet felted and she is dressed in harris tweed and dyed cheesecloth fabric. She is a healer and holds her collecting basket and her mortar and pestle is by her feet. She is £32 and post us £4.19 24 hour tracked or £3.49 48 hr tracked. Litha blessings - Happy Summer solstice. Finally the sun is shining 🌞

I am a little late with this sunny, sunflower lady. Chaos reigns below me at home with a large leak through the sitting room ceiling🙈
However, I have finally managed to complete her and she is to be the prize for my lovely Litha give away. I have been fascinated by the story of the Pendal witches for many years and i am the proud posessor of several of the Witches of Pendal collectable character witches. Over the last four months or so I have been sporadically creating my own version of some of these witches, using the dolls I have for inspiration. I have also added to my collection of the Witches of Pendal dolls, the last three coming from a really lovely lady who has a weekend stall on York Shambles market. She no longer has any of the Pendal figures available BUT from this weekend she will have a selection of my ladies! I think this is a meeting that was truly meant to happen 🥰
These are some of the Witches I have made alongside their counterpart - call them my practice pieces. The first represents Demdike (Elizabeth Southerns) who was one of the witches on trial. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. These are the words on the charm this angel holds, along with a 'you are my special angel' charm. I can alter charms and have many to hand including memory charms and family members. She has been made with beautiful lilac fibres and gradient dyed glittery wings as well as soft marabou feathers.
