P5 produced some remarkable projects this year, covering all sorts of topics such as Birds, Healthy Food and Ancient Egyptians. They really have outdone themselves!

These pupils who maintained an impressive 100% attendance record can now look forward to a well earned break over the summer holidays!

P6 Activity Day!

P6 enjoyed a well earned break from all their hard school work as they headed off to the Belfast Activity Centre for a range of fun activities. As you can see, they had lots of fun and adventure! 🏹

Beach Day!

Alongside enjoying ‘Break the Rules Day’ - our P1 and P2 classes had lots of fun having a beach party! They played outside in the sand and Mrs McKillop had some great music pumping!

Sports Night 2024! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️

Despite the heavy downpour just as everyone was arriving, Sports Night ended up a tremendous success! Our boys and girls participated with skill and determination and everyone enjoyed the PTFA BBQ and Summer Fair.

Due to the adverse conditions we didn’t risk running any parent or toddler races. Apologies to any disappointed parents - apparently one Dad even brought his inhaler for the occasion!

Thank you to the staff and PTFA for running such a successful event, and thank you to all who came along and supported our pupils and school. 😃

At the end of Sports Night we were able to take a few minutes to dedicate our new outdoor classroom to much loved former pupil Aaron Webb.

Aaron’s family and former classmates were in attendance as Mr Dunbar shared a few words about Aaron and then Aaron’s family were invited to reveal our new 'Aaron's Den' oak plaque, which was purchased by Aaron's BCM classmates.

The outdoor classroom was purchased for the school by the PTFA, with Mrs Kavanagh and her family erecting the structure and putting lots of effort into beautifying the area around it.

It was lovely to see Aaron’s former classmates spending time together in this special space and sharing memories about him. ♥️

We are going to try and run sports day despite the rain delay. Please come along! ☔️

The BBQ is still on so come down and have tea and see your friends!

The weather is currently holding out and we are looking forward to Sports Night! 😃

When parking - please help us by being respectful of residents’ driveways and avoid using the Wilkinson’s farm as a turning circle.

A reminder of timings:
Doors will be open from 5pm.
P1 - P4 children should be left to their classroom by parents at 5:30pm.
P1 - P4 races begin sharply at 5:45pm
P5 - P7 pupils will be called to the field shortly before their races begin at 7:15pm

The forecast is predicting some showers around 2/3pm but we hope that the weather should brighten in time for the event.

Keep an eye out for updates - and remember your deckchairs!

Sports Night - Thursday 6th June (get in training for the Parents/Carers races)
Doors open at 5pm
Skip your dinner and buy a burger or hotdog instead, with Ice cream for desert!
Traditional Fair games - Hook a Duck, Tin can Alley, Mouse Hole Golf, Bottle Flip, Duck Races, Splat the Rat, Coconut Shy and Penalty shoot out. 10 Tickets for £5 (50p per game) All the profits will go to buy resources and experiences that enrich Ballycarrickmaddy pupils' education.

P7 Residential 🏹 🛶 🧗‍♂️

Last week our P7 class enjoyed an action-packed adventure at Delamont Outdoor Centre for their end of your residential trip.

They got the chance to try out new activities, move out of their comfort zone and enjoy working together as a team.

They had an amazing time and the staff are starting to recover nearly a week later!

Job Opportunity!

We are looking for a temporary cleaner from 2-6pm daily. This job will begin ASAP and work is also available through the summer months. The rate of pay is £11.91.

🚨 Urgent Update from the Education Authority on the suspension of non-teaching strike action.

Strike action for Monday has been suspended. School will be open as usual.

Thank you for making our PTFA Quiz night a spectacular success! We had a fantastic night with lots of laughs - our PTFA members kindly made the free light supper (a variety of sandwiches and traybake) which were enjoyed by all. Thank you to all our Raffle prize donors: Parents and PTFA members plus businesses Dunnes Stores Domino's Pizza Ivy Lane Clothing KLS Aesthetics NI Floral Unique Love Lettie x Rodgers Community Care
We made a profit of over £400 but most of all we had really great fun, catching up with other parents, BCM staff and community members. Thank you also to the United F.C. (Official) for looking after us so well.
