Jamie Carragher Academy

BTEC Level 3 is for students aged 16-18 with 4 GCSE’s including English and Maths at grade C or equivalent Functional Skills, plus a BTEC Level 1 & 2 Diploma in Sport at Merit level or equivalent. The course is 2 academic years and is equivalent in size to two A-Levels. This course provides the qualification and experience for entry into the industry at an operational level with future for management at further education. Assessment includes: assignments, observations, case studies, projects, presentations and reports.

BTEC Level 1/2 is for students aged 16-18 with 4 ‘D’ grades at GCSE. The course is 1 academic year 4 days a week. You will gain knowledge of a vocational sector, investigate areas of interest and develop essential skills and attributes valued by employers and further education. Assessment includes: assignments, observations, case studies, projects, presentations and reports.

The Jamie Carragher Sports Academy helps 16-18-year olds who want to progress in sports. Vocational courses cover: coaching, physical education, sport development, sports science and sports therapy. Our courses provide opportunities into employment, to further study and higher education. The academy has state of the arts facilities including: IT materials, 3G indoor football pitch, gym and other recreational facilities students can use all year.
