We’re a week into Movember! It’s such an important charity that does so much for men!

Movember is an annual event that takes place in November and is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for men’s health issues, particularly prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and su***de prevention.

Movember aims to highlight the importance of early detection, regular check-ups, and open dialogue about men’s health, helping to break the stigma surrounding these issues.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. It has its own day specifically to raise awareness of the tools in place that can help a person in need.

The Facts:

1 in 5 will have thoughts of Su***de in any given time.

1 in 15 will attempt su***de.

Males are 3 times likely to die by su***de.

Females are more likely to think and attempt su***de.

125 people a week take their own lives across the UK.

That’s 17 people per day.

150 people are affected by every single su***de

Many of those likely to be faced with a situation of su***de are not adequately trained to do so. So passing on tips for everyone, may help if the situation arises.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨?

• If you think someone is at immediate risk - dial 999

• If someone is having suicidal thoughts then encourage them to call on 116 123 or text on 85258!
