Good luck to all the Liverpool John Moores University pharmacy students with exams these next weeks, especially those final year students with exams today.
It's that time of year again we are all finished for Christmas and just the presents to wrap. Thanks again to all
I've seen a few social media posts, advising parents that pharmacies are able to swab or otherwise diagnose Strep A, and offer antibiotics for treatment/prophylaxis. This is certainly not the case in the Mersey region.
Whilst we are able to supply antibiotics for SOME sore throats, the supply of them is, rightly so, tightly controlled so if the patient doesn't fit the exact criteria all we can do is offer symptomatic relief and refer them to their GP.
If your child presents with symptoms of Strep A; often flu-like symptoms, sore throat, raised temperature, swollen neck glands, and has experienced a rapid decline please contact emergency medical services, ie Children's A&E.
NHS flu vaccines are now in stock, we can provide these Free of Charge to anyone over the age of 65, those with various qualifying health conditions, carers and health / social care workers. Why not inquire in store?, or better yet fill in the pre-consult questionnaire using the link below and call in. Appointments are not necessary.
Just a quick reminder folks COVID is still out there, please test before going to events with strangers, wear a mask if possible in enclosed spaces , give one another some space and most importantly stay home if you think you might have Covid. FREE NHS lateral flow tests should still be available from your local pharmacy.
But most of all stay safe, we've made it this far let's not throw it all away, now.
yes, its that time of year again. Please ensure you have ordered all your medication in time for the holidays
Its that time of year again, where we tearfully say goodbye to our final year pharmacy students, who are off to begin their trainee pharmacy year next week. So it's goodbye and good luck to our very own Sami Allison and Becky Dear , wishing you all the best in your future endeavours
Healthcare settings, including Pharmacies, are excluded from the relaxing of the mask wearing regulations, on the 19th July. So we will continue to ask those patients, who are able, to wear masks whilst on the premises, if you are unable to wear a mask please consider accessing our services remotely, we are available via the phone and will be able to deliver medication to you in most circumstances. Thank you and Stay Safe
We are now able to supply NHS lateral flow Covid test kits for asymptomatic patients to test at home, these are intended primarily for use by those in childcare bubbles and workers having to leave home for work. Please call in if you need to collect a pack
Have you had the Oxford/AZ Covid Jab? if so the Drug Safety Research Unit are after your help please see the details below
Well what a year it's been, thank you to all our customers who've stood by us and helped us all adjust to a new way of working.
We are still providing most of our normal services, although we have had to suspend some face to face services i.e. Blood pressure checks and diabetes checks for obvious reasons.
One other change has been a move to contactless deliveries, this includes not allowing our delivery staff to enter peoples homes. Our delivery staff, primarily Les, visit many people, some of whom are confirmed Covid-19 patients, to minimise the risk to YOU we ask for deliveries to be left at the door. I do realise this change causes issues for some people, especially those in communal housing, but we all have to take steps to minimise contact wherever possible, and protect the vulnerable.
Latest, gov.uk Covid-19 guidelines just in case Boris' presentation wasn't clear enough for you
Helping us to help you in this 3rd National lockdown
We are back up and running with our smoking cessation services, which you can access in person or over the phone on 0151-263-2786. If you'd rather you can contact smokefree Liverpool, direct for counselling and they can send vouchers directly to your chosen pharmacy
Inspite of the incoming Covid-19 vaccine, the biggest threat to many people and the NHS is still seasonal influenza, to that end the ongoing NHS vaccination program has been extended to anyone over the age of 50 years of age. If you are someone you know, over the age of 50, has not yet had their flu vaccine please contact your local pharmacy or GP to arrange a FREE NHS flu vaccine
This year more than ever, it is important, especially if you are in one of the high risk categories (Over 65 years of age, chronic lung disease, heart disease, care worker etc) that you get your seasonal flu vaccine. We currently have stock of both vaccines in, available on a first come first served basis. I'm afraid we do not currently have sufficient stock to service non high risk patients.
Influenza season is upon us, thankfully the NHS supplied flu service is now live. We have vaccines available, for patients 65 and over, and registering for our drop in "socially distanced" service is easier than ever, just access the link at https://preconsult.app/pc/FGH61 to fill in your details prior to attending... Do not worry if you aren't able to do so our staff can complete the questions with you on our premises. Please we ask all patients, without a valid medical exemption, to wear masks during the process
We've been made aware that face coverings for babies and very young children are available for sale in England.
Children under the age of three should NOT wear face coverings, as they could cause choking or suffocation.
From today the government requires customers, without a valid exemption, to wear facemasks in shops in England.
With dental services still reduced, we are delighted to have sourced a limited quantity of Toofypegs for temporary dental repairs, get it whilst stocks last!
With NHS fulfilling the current demand, NHS England have kindly allowed, some of us, some well earned time off this bank Holiday weekend. The following pharmacies in Liverpool, including our friend Tony at Melwood, will be open to fulfill any pharmaceutical needs
We are proud to be offering up our consultation room as a safe space https://uksaysnomore.org/listening-from-home/
#ListeningFromHome - UK SAYS NO MORE Friends, family members, colleagues and neighbours: as we tackle coronavirus, your role in responding to domestic abuse is more important than ever before.
Another Bank Holiday under lockdown, and another working day for the NHS. We will be open from 2 p.m until 5 p.m, but we will not be able to offer a normal delivery service. Stay safe
The NHS is working overtime this easter and that includes us
Ok so we are now in lockdown, where possible we will be maintaining our usual delivery schedule, just bear in mind we are much busier than normal. Where possible please use the phone for dealing with any queries, rather than coming out. And most importantly stay safe.
So Covid-19 is forcing changes on us all, we have so far maintained normal services, but from Monday morning we will be instituting some changes to protect both staff and customers. We will restrict access to the shop to staff and limit the number of customers in the shop to help with social isolation.
Hopefully these changes will allow us to continue to serve the community through these challenging times.
A very merry Xmas from all our staff, we are closed today and tomorrow and then back to normal on Friday (27th)
