Great night on Friday at the DoES Liverpool Film Night - Pants Labyrinth was a real hit, although the pants didn't go down well. as you can tell from the gritted teeth of the winner.
Well done Simon Jones for organising. Look forward to many more.
Some photos from last weekends Wirral MakeFest
I helped out on the DoES Liverpool stall telling people about all the great activities that take place at DoES Liverpool and pusing new thinking about how to use technology to engage people.
Although I loved my plant pot from Pat Link, and my Bookmark from Little Vintage Photography I did have the most fun explaining Museum in a Box to people. Teachers loved it and you can find out more here https://museuminabox.org/
I really need to post closer to the day these things happen.
Become part of a brilliant organisation pusing for change.
My work is done. Cult Cargo Net.

Dear
I used to love the future gazing aspect of Social Media Cafe - there was that talk from Francis Irving about the walled gardens of social media platforms. Now it kind of goes without saying that they are all splitting with so many different niche platforms - mainly being driven by the purchase of Instagram by Meta and Musk buying Twitter.
Back to the main point - do you have something to say? Do you want to share? Then why not take part in this future gazing session at Liverpool Makefest

Pin, Pins, Pinhead.
Taking a little break yesterday from biennialling I stopped off to rest on the sParkIt project. A lovely project I am vaguely involved with.
This was a very moving show Liverpool Biennial I made it for the final weekend.
Fascinating talk last night at Bluecoat on how the Liverpool Biennial started. It was great to be reminded of how it all came about, the money, the mission. How it placed itself in the consciousness of the UK arts scene. How without it the Manchester International Festival would never have been created and the important role that artists socialising played in the 90s in bringing the sector together. It really opened the streets up and made them safe for people to wander and discover new venues and places across the city.
Go see at the Atkinson and Lady Lever art Gallery.
Guess which one is the large Blue Moon? Taken at Edge Hill Station during the Launch of the Liverpool Community Print Station.
We're looking to recruit speakers for this event in June. We're running a session on the Wirral and could really do with people interested in sustainability for this Ignite Futures event.
Read, Digest, Share (please)
We need your help - we're going to Birkenhead in June to run a Ignite Futures session, which, as you can see from the picture is very different from our usual events. These events are more intimate and people are asked to respond to specific themes, then we open it up to the floor for people to ask questions.
We're doing this as part of Wirral Makefest on June 3rd, think Liverpool Makefest but on the Wirral. There is more information here https://wirralmakefest.org/
So I hear you asking how is it that I can help out one of my favourite events.
We really need you to help us get the message out to anyone who lives on the Wirral and who would likely be interested in these subject areas. We are after aspirational ideas -
Session 1
Title: How to encourage Active Travel
Session 2
Title: How to encourage food sustainability
Session 3
Title: Regeneration and Tourism
Session 4
Title: Using Sustainability Creatively
You can find out more and even decide to do a talk yourself right here https://igniteliverpool.com/2023/03/wirral-makefest-2023/
