Setting the Record Straight on Reminisce 2024

Hey everyone,

I’m not massively vocal on social media as you know but I want to address a few comments I've seen floating around. We've been working tirelessly to secure a small capacity increase for Reminisce this year. The demand for tickets has grown alongside our festival, and as a progressive brand, we’re committed to responsible growth. We've come a long way since our start in 2014 with just 3,000 attendees—now, a decade later, we're hosting over 20,000. This growth, in my opinion has been steady and measured.

To be clear, increasing capacity and securing a license for an event of this scale isn’t easy. The authorities don’t hand out licenses lightly; we have to prove that we have the space, medical provisions, security, infrastructure, and facilities to safely accommodate everyone.

Some people have mentioned concerns about capacity in the past. In 2021, our first event post-COVID, we didn’t increase capacity at all from 2019. Any issues that year were not due to overselling but rather a mix of challenges as previously covered, including:

• Technology failures on-site
• Last-minute cancellations from trusted security and staffing providers
• Lack of available professional services post-pandemic
• High levels of ticket fraud and break-ins
• Licensing restrictions that limited crowd flow (tent walls)
• A large number of people arriving without tickets
To name just a few...

Despite these challenges, we made it through 2021 with no major incidents, and we received positive feedback from Merseyside Police on how well we dealt with a difficult situation. We know some people had a subpar experience that year, and no one felt that more deeply than we did. We promised to deliver a better experience in 2022, and we did just that. We listened, fixed the issues, and delivered one of our best events ever. The same goes for 2023, where the 5-star reviews rolled in once again.

Now, as we prepare for our 10th anniversary, it's disheartening to see a few negative comments about our efforts to secure a small increase in ticket allocation. Rest assured, we’re not interested in overcrowding the event—it's about giving more people the chance to enjoy Reminisce responsibly. We haven’t even confirmed if our site improvements and requests have been approved yet.
Also, many people on deposit schemes may not complete their payments, which means those tickets will go back on sale (last year we had over a thousand re-released unpaid deposit scheme tickets). While we're currently sold out, more tickets may become available soon due to this also.

We understand it's been a tough financial year for everyone, and we're working hard to bring you the best experience possible. For those who have supported us over the years, we appreciate you more than words can say and i promise we will always try to do our very best for you all!
In an age where misinformation is rampant, we’ve always aimed to be transparent and honest with you. Unlike big corporate companies, we believe in keeping it real. However, after seeing some of the misleading comments tonight, I felt the need to speak up and expand a little on whats been said.
