It's got considerably colder!
So whilst we are waiting for today's APOC IT post to defrost, here are some interesting IT temperature based facts for you all....
Your CPU - Central Processing Unit!......
Idle Temperature: Typically, CPUs operate at lower temperatures when the system is idle. Idle temperatures for CPUs might range from 30 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Load Temperature: Under heavy workload or gaming, CPU temperatures can rise. Ideally, they should stay below 80-85 degrees Celsius to ensure optimal performance and avoid thermal throttling.
Then there's your GPU....
Similar to CPUs, GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) have lower temperatures at idle status. Idle GPU temperatures can be in the range of 30 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Load Temperature: For GPUs, staying below 80-85 degrees Celsius under load is generally considered safe and optimal.
If all that sounds like double dutch to you... it probably means you need your own outsourced team of tech geeks who understand the lingo!...

Google Lens is a powerful visual recognition tool developed by Google that allows users to explore and interact with the world around them through their smartphone's camera or your chrome browser on a laptop or desktop.
Some of its great features include:
Text Recognition: Google Lens can recognise and extract text from images. You can copy text from images, translate it, or search for more information related to the text.
Object Recognition: It can identify and provide information about various objects, plants, animals, and even landmarks. This feature is helpful for learning more about what you see in your surroundings.
Copy-Paste from the Real World: You can use Lens to copy text from the real world (e.g., a book, whiteboard, or document) and paste it into your phone as editable text.
Image Search: You can use Google Lens to search for similar images, products, or related information. For example, you can scan a piece of artwork to find out more about the artist or artwork.
Language Translation: Google Lens offers real-time translation for text.
Shopping Assistance: It can recognise products and provide shopping information, including pricing, availability, and links to purchase items online.

So what are you doing to protect your business?
1️⃣ Strong Passwords: 💪 Use unique and complex passwords for each account. Consider using a trusted password manager for added convenience.
2️⃣ Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): ✌️ Enable 2FA wherever possible. It adds an extra layer of protection to your accounts.
3️⃣ Updates & Patches: ✅ Keep your devices and software up to date. Regular updates often include security fixes.
4️⃣ Beware of Phishing: 🚫 Be cautious with unsolicited emails, texts, or calls. Verify the sender's identity before clicking links or sharing sensitive info.
5️⃣ Public Wi-Fi: 📶 Use public Wi-Fi networks sparingly, and avoid accessing sensitive data on them. Consider using a VPN for added security.
6️⃣ Secure Your Home Network: 🔒 Change default router passwords and enable WPA3 encryption to protect your Wi-Fi network.
7️⃣ Backup Your Data: 💾 Regularly back up important files to an external drive or a secure cloud service. Ransomware won't stand a chance!
8️⃣ Social Media Privacy: 🕵️ Review and adjust your social media privacy settings. Share personal info cautiously.
9️⃣ Secure Online Shopping: 🛍️ Shop only from trusted websites and check for HTTPS in the URL. Avoid saving payment info on retail sites.
🔟 Educate Yourself: 🧠 Stay informed about cybersecurity threats and best practices. Knowledge is your best defence.
