A friend of ours who owns a shop said she was closing her shop down. Her reason for this decision was all the rubbish, low quality, cheap Chinese imports killing her business.

How sad we are losing someone who helps support her local community by employing local people, paying rates and which support her local economy.

It is sad to lose yet another shop from the British knitting businesses.

Remember, British businesses support the UK and help support the much-needed services we all rely on.

About a week ago, I was walking past someone's house the other day and saw a guy up a ladder leaning on a flag post.
He was putting up a Welsh blended with an Irish flag. I stopped to say hi, asking him about the unusual flag. He said he put this flag up every year to remember his wife by, because she had knitted it 2 years before her death to show their love for each other.

I thought, how lovely. What a skilled knitter his wife was because the flag looked amazing. The way she had blended the two national flags together was very clever. Something I had never seen before.

We went to the supermarket last night for a little food shopping and the store was full of Christmas gifts and Christmas food for sale! The store was even decorated with Christmas lights.

In order to save money in these hard times have you or do you know of anyone knitting a school uniform?
It used to be quite common during the 70s to knit school jumpers.
I think we need to go back in time and start a revival of knitting school jumpers this time including other clothing from the uniform too.

People often ask me what is the best knitting pattern I have ever used.

Something I cannot answer because there are so many out there. I think it is probably the one that has been the most useful.
With the current worldwide issues it is best considering patterns that may save some money such as jumpers or tops. Think about how much a jumper costs in a shop at current inflation rates and then think about the yarn cost, pattern cost (if not free) and pleasurable time taken to knit it. There is no contest because it is often cheaper to knit your own rather than buy ready-made.

I bought 3 plants from a business called Plantguys. They were superfast for delivery and the plants were in amazing condition and extremely well-wrapped.

I cannot wait for the plants to grow to full height and flower because they look stunning on their website.
