Happy Mother's Day to Your host Rhian Owen
Well deserved lunch at Caffi Nain, Anglesey Transport Museum and cafe. Tacla Taid for being the best mum and Nain
Today we took a walk to the Stepping Stones and Newborough Forest
Ground is still extremely muddy and wet but as long as your prepared it's still an amazing area no matter what the weather.
A little planning is needed if you are heading to the Stepping stone, this area is tidal and will not be passable/extremely slippy at high tide. We are currently having extremely high spring tides too!!
Best parking for this is Maes Parcio Llyn Rhos Ddu
Please take care on the island and plan your day according to the weather.
We are on an island and is absolutely stunning here all year round
We have over 135 miles of coastal path, many sections do get cut off by the tide. Some smaller Coastal roads are also affected
TIDE NEWS!
Significant spring tides are forecast between Saturday 9th and Tuesday 12th of March 2024. Possibly the largest in the past 25 years. Some coastal roads are likely to be vulnerable to flooding from the sea, especially in the event of easterly winds. The B5109 between Beaumaris and Llangoed may be affected. Motorists are advised to take care. The public is advised to be aware and take care if you are visiting the seafront or coastal areas during this time.
It's been an absolutely lovely week here on Anglesey
Not far from Y Bwthyn we have some amazing beaches.
Today's adventures took us from Rhosneigr to Cymyan, hardly a person in sight, and miles of open beach for Jess to run free on.
This particular route was 8 miles from the Oyster Catcher, but it could be shortened to 3½ miles from the Golf Club
Please ask us for any other walks or hidden beaches to explore while you're here
This is a beautiful walk for many of our guests, but please , please check the tide times before venturing on the island of Llandwyn and other tidal coastal walks around Anglesey
*** CALL OUT *** 19/01/24
Rhosneigr Coastguard Rescue Team tasked for the second time this week to llanddwyn island, Newborough. This time to the aid of a female walker who was cut off on the island by the incoming tide.
Assited by the Porthdinllaen lifeboat who arrived on scene and launched its Y Boat and picked up the walker and safely transported her back to the beach to our awaiting team members where we placed her into our vehicle to warm up before transporting her to her own vehicle in main beach car park where we then chatted about the importance of beach and sea safety and of checking the local tide times and weather forcasts before planning a visit to any beaches or walks along the coast etc.
Many thanks to porthdinllaen lifeboat for their assistance and to Holyhead MRCC for the coordination of the tasking.
Remember, if you, or if you should see anyone in danger around our coastline then please call 📞 9️⃣ 9️⃣9️⃣ and ask for the Coastguards.
A visit to Ynys Llanddwyn is always a popular walk for our guests and one we would highly recommend, however it is a tidal island and at high tide is completely cut off from the main land
Please check tides before your visit
Also note, another popular walk is to St Cwyfans Church, Church in the sea at Aberffraw, this also gets cut off from the main land at high tide
