You deserve it, thereās no show like it š¤ The jewel in the crown of the North West. Itās like the Oscars of the gardening world to me š¤©
It felt so good to be home. Thereās nothing like it. The people, the warmth, the community spiritā¦ and most of all the courageous resilience.
I miss you so much Southport but I also know that no matter where I go you are always in my heart.
Thank you to Alan and the Southport Flower show team. The displays today were absolutely stunningā¦. So so special. Please do give the show a visit if you get the chanceā¦ and as you look upon the beautiful colours remember the love all around us.

Iāve never really known what Iām doing when it comes to running. I just used to put my trainers on, headphones in and run! Itās been incredible joining the Runna community - Iāve learned so much about myself, looking after my body and running already. Everyone has been so supportive and welcoming. Itās such an incredible family.
As I always say, movement is medicine. Itās been fundamental in helping me recover from cancer, getting my life back on track, keeping me strong and fit, helping my body adapt to living with a stoma and most of all itās transformed my mind.

āHello sailorā āļøš
Thatās the name of Audreyās new fav swim suit. A lot of people have been asking about it. Itās wonderful and so comfy - this is not an ad, I bought it myself. Kateās shouting over saying she bought itā¦ which she didā¦ but she bought it with my money š
I love it. Itās a one piece swim suit with a cut outā¦ and for any fellow ostomates, you can have your stoma showing or notā¦. Audrey can easily pop inside.
Itās also on sale at the mo in black at . Just thought Iād share as itās always good to have well-fitting swimsuits that donāt disappear up your bum haha.
Happy hols everyone xx āļø
Live everyday like a mini lifetime
And what a way to spend a lifetime today. Thank you , .alexander and Virgin Radio UK team for the most wonderful chat, cheers and super good vibes on the show this morning āØ
Chris is right at the start of my book. He was one of the first people I saw the day I took on the challenge of running the TCS London Marathon. I was so nervous that day. Iād been up since 3am because Audrey (my stoma) had escaped from her stoma bag and was throwing porridge and mashed potato all over my girlfriend and our hotel room. Not the best start to the dayā¦
But as we say in the book, āitās not what you go through in life, itās who you become in the processā
Thank you for sharing some of the stories in the book Chris and most of all thank you for using your platform to inspire and help others. Chris spoke from the heart today about his own cancer journey too.
EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES. Please listen back and share if you can. You never know who needs to hear the messages today. Donāt fear the warning signs, fear ignoring them.
I call cancer the silent killer. It thrives on us not talking about itā¦ so please please pleaseā¦ talk to someone if youāre worried.
When I first met Chris on the day of the marathon, I didnāt know if I would be able to finish it. But I knew with all my heart that Iād give it everything Iād got. To say thank you to everyone who had helped me get through and as a tribute to everyone weāve lost to cancerā¦ by the end of the day Iād not only finished the race but Iād also set a new Guinness World Recordā¦ proof of the strength of the human spirit. I ran that marathon faster than Iāve ever run it before. It was literally my PERSONAL BEST. Proof also that the mind is a powerful, infinite wonderful thing and I truly believe it can carry you when the body wants to give in. Oh and it also gave me the idea for a bookā¦
So a year later, to have that very book in the hands of the man who started that special day for me was a dream come true and a moment Iāll treasure forever.
Thank you Chris ā„ļø

HERSTORY (as Mama Ru would say) š
My heart is still so full and absolutely bursting after yesterday. An iconic awards show in the heart of London Town. At the wonderous .theowo šš¤© wow wow wow!!
A fabulous and grand building with so much history and meaningā¦ laying host to a ceremony to celebrate our incredible LGBTQ+ community & very treasured alliesā¦ A day to make new special memories. The energy in that room was next level. It was perfectionā¦ and to top it off, the ultimate MC - the most glamours gorgeous host, with the biggest heart . What a dream. Thank you for the most wonderful afternoon
I remember thinking āoh my gosh, is here, I wonder who sheās going to give an award to. I nearly passed out when it was me š«£š hahaā¦ OMGā¦ where do I start?! Mabel THANK YOU for all YOU do to inspire others, thank you for being a strong ally to our community and thank you for your beautiful words. You had me crying before I even stood up.
I hope what I ended up saying on stage made sense and I hope if anyone in that room was going through a tough time I hope I brought you a bit of comfortā¦ and maybe Audrey (my stoma) exploding on me along with my bathroom laundry wet patches brought a bit of light relief.
styles you never fail to amaze and inspire me. Thank you for everything you do to uplift others. I am blown away and honoured to have received this award and itās a huge reminder to me to keep going and keep helping others as I have been helped myself.
Congratulations to all the winners at this years and a huge thank you to all those who make it possible.

What a difference a thought makes āØ
These two photos popped up on my phone yesterday and I couldnāt believe it. A chance to be proud of how far Iāve come and a timely reminder to keep going! Iām nearly 20 years older in the photo on the left and Iāve never been fitter, happier or healthier and thatās after recently having cancer, living with a naughty stoma (Audrey) and still not having the use of my bottomā¦ š
Thatās one of the reasons Kate and I wrote our book PERSONAL BEST. Even though it mentions my recent health journey itās more about life, how I keep messing mine up š¤£ riding those crashing wavesā¦ but more importantly how to never give up.
Weāre absolutely blown away by the feedback and weāre so happy that itās been helping so many people. THANK YOU!
Its available in all formats šš±š§whichever is easiest and I hope it helps you - if like me in the photo on the right - youāre not being true to yourself and youāre not in such a good place mentally and physically. If outside youāre smiling but inside youāre struggling.
Iāve been there, believe meā¦ but one thing I know for sure, when you change your thoughts, you change your life ā„ļø

The energy today was next level. I love the running community. It is so welcoming and inclusive. Thank you to Roger Johnson & for taking the time to chat to Ant and I. What dreams are made of
Thank you Baroness Benjamin of Beckenham and your gorgeous beau Keith for the most incredible day that we shall never forget.
Kate and I woke up pinching ourselves today. We never imagined that we would be able to hand deliver our book to Floella Benjamin at the House of Lordsā¦ and not only be allowed inā¦ but then be taken for a stunning afternoon tea and on the most amazing tour you could ever imagine. My brain couldnāt compute itā¦ the whole afternoon felt like a dream. It was the most magical experience in the company of such a special woman. I cannot tell you the amount of peers who excitedly ran up to her to hug her and congratulate her on her BAFTA fellowship. It was beautiful to see.
I knew Floella was a one offā¦ but sheās other worldly! Her energy is something else. She radiates beauty, kindness, resilience and most of all LOVE. Kate and I were in awe. It was so wonderful to be in the presence of her and Keith. Theyāre soulmates. Those two together are world beaters. What theyāve achieved together over the years is nothing short of magical.
If youāve read our book you will know it wouldnāt have been possible without Floella. In fact I wouldnāt have run the marathon without Floella. My life could have been very different without that chance encounterā¦ but then God works in mysterious waysā¦ and just when you think everything is falling apartā¦ it just might be falling into place.
Thank you for what you did for Kate and I yesterday Baroness. Itās was just like old times. Like our Playschool daysā¦ but this time we were looking out of House of Lords stained glass window, knowing our responsibility to help others, and daring to dream.
We promise to do you and Keith proud.
Movement is medicine!
Without a doubt. I walk for at least 20minutes everyday and I have done ever since my wonderful stoma nurse advised it. No gym membership or gym kit needed. I just put my shoes on, get my tunes blasting and off I go šš I canāt advocate it enough. Itās definitely helped me recover from bowel cancer surgery and itās helped me mentally. What it does for my mind and body is beyond measure. Itās a daily practice. Staying active, keeping focused and choosing happiness is what keeps me going. I know the old me is still in there ready to pounce whenever she gets the chance. Little goals each day deliver HUGE rewards. I promise!
Loving week. We donāt talk about it enough. Itās hard when your inside world doesnāt match your outside. I spent too many years living like this.
And I couldnāt have made any changes without my Katie. Shes saved me. Helped me see self care as something good. Something essential. Sheās trying to get me into yogaā¦ good luck baby. I hope you succeed - to be fair Iād rather mess about and balance you on my feet š
Summer loading āļøš š
āThe human spirit is a powerful thingā
Truly honoured to be one of the winners of this years āSpirit of London awardāā¦ alongside Tom Durnin.
Best of luck to everyone whoās entered the ballot for next year. Itās a race that helped transform me and changed my lifeā¦ I wouldnāt have written a book without it for starters. Iām so grateful. I learned so many valuable lessons about life and myself along the way. In fact, I think it helped save my life. I never knew if Iād ever get to run a marathon again after my surgeryā¦ but I knew that Iād never give up and never stop dreaming.
As I say in the bookā¦ my friend Ian told me that the marathon is 80% mentalā¦ I thought he was off his headā¦ š I didnāt understand. Now I do. Training for the marathon served as the perfect metaphor for this part of my life.ā¦ if you dig deep enough, stay strong, keep believing, keep moving forwardā¦ no matter how small, you CANNOT be stopped. The cancer might have affected my body, and transformed it forever but I wasnāt going to let it take my soul too. It can f*ck right off.
Thanks so much to everyone whoās bought the book, left reviews and taken the time to send & I the most amazing messages. Weāre absolutely buzzing. In fact weāre over the moonš¤©š„¹. Keep kicking ass my friends. Weāre loving our Personal Best family xx
Thank you so much to Kaye Adams and the BBC Radio Scotland team for not only raising vital awareness of & living with a but also for such a wonderful show š Had a great time xx
Just in case you needed to see this today š
Can you believe this great photo of me starkers and in a mood with Audrey got rejected from the book? Haha.
I keep getting asked about āthe nightmare morning of the marathonā ah yesā¦
Stomas might be lifesavers but they can also be literal little š© especially Audrey. Shes such a little f*cker.
Literal receiptsā¦ As you can see from the time code on the photoā¦ She not only woke me up at 3:03am on the morning of the biggest run of my life but she also then trashed our hotel bathroom.
I had to clean our fancy hotel shower, stark naked becuase sheād blocked the plug hole with mashed potato and instant porridge. I wanted to cry so bad.
But as I learned that dayā¦ itās not over until itās over. I thought the rest of the day was a total write off. If youāve read chapter 13 of our book youāll know that this was just the start of a WHOLE DAY of f*ck upsā¦ The day actually gets worse hahaā¦ BUT by the end of the day Iād set a new Guinness world record š¤Æš¤©
So I hope that gives you a boost if you needed to see that today. I truly believe that if you donāt give up, you cannot be stopped. The only limits are in your mind. Anything is possible. āØ
Ps. I just wish Iād got a picture of Ian Beale and my waffles šš If you pinch in on the photo of me and Richard you can see the waffles in my kit bag š§š§š¤£
BOOK SWAP š
They say never meet your heroesā¦ unless itās the bloody amazing š¤©
Wow what a woman?! A huge inspiration to me, one of my fav radio presenters too. This lady has helped me more than she can imagine. Especially when she was so kind to me before my first ever marathon. And I made her do a selfie with me outside of a portaloo haha.
We had the best chat yesterday about running, what it can do for you and how itās never too late to get involved. My running actually started out with walking - as youāll know from my book - Iām a late starterā¦ and as I say āIām the laziest runner youāll ever meetā. All the tricks and tactics I have learned to use are in Chapter 12 of my book PERSONAL BEST - (swipe for list)ā¦
Those are some of the techniques I use for both running and in general life to keep me on track. We go more in depth in my book. Changing my mindset and removing all my bullsh*t excuses. I was such a devious little š© back in the day. Self sabotage to the max! Itās been a mammoth challenge to trick myself into loving exercise but Iāve done it. Iāll be honest, itās been hardā¦ I whinged all the way through most of the training for my first marathon. If you could speak to my radio producer at the time, Dan. Heād tell you. Poor Dan! šš I never stopped complainingā¦ but I persevered, I didnāt give up on myself, I got fitter, stronger and happierā¦ and it wasnāt just a physical thing. Itās so much more than that. It transforms your mind. I swear! Mentally, running has saved me. Itās the cheapest most powerful medicine Iāve ever taken!
You can hear all about how I got into running and more about my book PERSONAL BEST in our chat on Jenniās brilliant - very soon! I left pumped, energised and ready to go again.
Jenniās fabulous book āRunners Highā is out now. Jenni is someone I used to watch smashing the marathon every year while I languished lazily in bed eating last nights takeaway. Sheās incredible runner and has so much experience and great advice to give. Thank you for signing my copy Jenni. And for taking another photo with me. At least I saved my fan girling for a studio this time and not outside of a toilet šš
All I need is a set of lollies and a bottle of joop and Iām ready to assist you in the toilets š
Loving the fabulous toilet roll fountain at today š Every time you go is a chance to check š¤
Thank you so much to the Daily Express for your wonderful review of Personal Best. WOW! š¤©Absolutely BUZZING! And too!
Thank you also to everyone who has taken the time to review our book. Kate and I are over the moon. We sincerely hoped our book would be a comfort or a helpful companion to anyone going through a tough time. And even if youāre not going through a tough timeā¦ we hope itās just āa cool story broā šš
We are so happy that itās helping so manyā¦ and as you will know if youāve got the bookā¦ Iāve f*cked up my life, so you donāt have to š haha. Well, Iāve made many mistakesā¦ but as we say in the book āthere are no loses in life, only wins and lessonsā.
I truly believe this. Even though it hurtsā¦ whenever you face adversityā¦ you have a choiceā¦ you can either lie down and let it take youā¦ or you can use it as an opportunity to MAKE YOU. We all go through hard times. Itās all relative. It might not be cancer, but whatever it is, it can hurt just the same. We hope you can see from our book that no matter what happens, every setback can be the start of a comeback āØ
Dream world āØ
To Roxy, Linda and the whole DIVA team. THANK YOU for one of the best nights of my life. I was absolutely blown away when Claire called out my name. I couldnāt actually believe it. It couldnāt have been more perfect šš¤š¤©
