BACKGROUND OF OUR JOURNEY
*****************************************
Most of us have come from poor backgrounds. God is teaching us that he is God of no choice It is a blessing to be who we are to inspire with such Backgrounds.

God Almighty Is Watching, Don't Cry, One Day You Be The Envy Of Everyone.

We Have Been In Rags Before, We Have Been The Laughing Stock Of All Before Because Of Poverty. We Know What We Are Talking About. Nobody On This Earth Can Tell Us Anything About Poverty, We Touched It, We Tasted It, We Smelled It, We Heard It, We Saw It, We Experienced Poverty And It Almost Killed Us And Took Us To The Grave Early In Life. Therefore, Believe Us And Above All Believe God Almighty, With Time The Rich Families Will Come From You. What's Important Is Discipline, Focus, And Hardworking Even In Our Poverty And Rags. This Is Why Some Of Us Defend The Poor And Vulnerable With Our Hearts Always Protecting Resources Meant For Poor People From Being Stolen By Thieves And The Corrupt If It Means Going To The Grave of the Poor We Are Very Ready.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WE STOOD FOR THE RIGHT AND TRUTH ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIFE ON EARTH.
(Fr. Rev Wapamesa Musonda)

We've just reached 22K followers! Thank you for your continuing support. We could never have made it without each one of you. 🙏🤗🎉

25/04/2024

I have seen people who were heartbroken find love and happily get married. I have seen people who grew up in poverty become financially successful. I have seen friends who struggled with unemployment create jobs for others. I have seen people who were called ugly become attractive. It is for these reasons that I strongly believe that there is no negative situation that is permanent 👌. The joy of seeing someone survive a very dark challenging moment in their lives is priceless!
One day you too will tell the story of how you overcame whatever challenges you are going through and we shall celebrate you. One day everything will fall into place. Don't give up my friend 💜 ( Fr. Waps).

TODAY’S EASTER DEVOTION

READ: ACTS 9:13

“Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man...”

AMAZING GRACE-CONVERSION OF LIFE IS POSSIBLE.

Those who consider religion boring must not know the Lord God. He is constantly doing stupendous, amazing things.

Jesus appeared to Saul, the fiercest opponent of Christians. With great power, Jesus converted him into the greatest evangelist (Acts 9:15ff).
At the very time that some people are losing faith in their Church, many are converting to the So brought their entire congregations with them into the Church.
Youth are populating the pro-life movement in large numbers, bringing new vigor and hope to veteran pro-lifers.
Men’s movements abound with testimonies of men set free from alcoholism, sexual sins, and other compulsions. Their marriages, families, and faith have been made new.
Have you ever felt that any individual or group is beyond God’s power to change? Do you feel trapped in a situation that appears to have no way out? Is your hope fading? “Fix your eyes on Jesus” (Heb 3:1) and renew your hope in Him. The Lord is a God of wonders. “Nothing is more apt to confirm our faith and hope than holding it fixed in our minds that nothing is impossible with God” . His ways are incredibly far above our ways (Is 55:8-9). There is always hope, and “this hope will not leave us disappointed” (Rm 5:5). “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it so much as dawned on man what God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Cor 2:9).

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord Jesus, You can do immeasurably more than I ask or imagine (Eph 3:20). Give me great confidence in You (2 Cor 3:4). Thanks for the courage and assurances when you tell me: “He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has life eternal, and I will raise him up on the last day.” —Jn 6:54.
Thank you Jesus. Amen 🙏.

TODAY'S DEVOTION

READ, RUTH 2:1-13
Boaz replied, "But I also know about everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband... May the LORD the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done."
Ruth 2:11-12

UNDER HIS WINGS.
Ruth was widowed at a young age but committed to caring for her mother-in-law, Naomi. Her dreams were shattered. She could have been bitter, but instead, she had a heart after God and had made Him her refuge. She would get up early every morning and go to the fields to pick up leftover grain. It looked like she would always struggle. But God sees what you've been through. You may be at a disadvantage, but God is not at a disadvantage. He controls the universe. He caused Boaz, one of the wealthiest men in that area, to see her, fall in love, and marry her. She went from working in the field to owning the field.

Don't believe the lies that you're stuck with. You're not limited by what's happened to you, what you didn't get, who wasn't there for you. Just keep being your best, putting God first. The right people are going to notice you. He is arranging things in your favour, ordering your steps. New doors are going to open. Some sudden, promotions, and opportunities will catapult you to a new level.

TODAY'S DEVOTION

READ, PSALM 126:1-6
Those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessings.
Psalm 126:6, MSG

“ARMLOADS OF BLESSING”

We all have times when our hearts are heavy through a loss, a bad medical report, or being mistreated on the job. It can feel as though the pain will never change. But today's Scripture says that even when your heart is heavy, you're going to come home laughing, with armloads of blessing. God is going to bring you out of that trouble better than you were before.

Today, you may be carrying burdens, sorrow, carrying pain, but God is about to do an exchange. Instead of carrying sorrow, how about carrying joy? Instead of carrying the hurt and loneliness from a divorce, or the death of a partner, how about letting go, or forgiving misunderstanding and moving on? What if God gives you someone great Walk into your life? Now you're laughing, now you're dreaming, living a victorious life. That's how good God is. You go out with a heavy heart, and you come back laughing, loaded down with blessings, with favour, with peace, with victory. You come out stronger, healthier, and promoted, at a new level of your destiny. You're not just out of the hardship; you're amazed at what God has done for you.

TODAY’S MEDITATION

_The power of God kept Jesus' body from corruption so he could rise victorious on the third day_

In the Book of Revelation, the Lord Jesus speaks: "Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one: I died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades" (Revelation 1:17-18). No tomb in the world could contain the Lord Jesus for long. His death on the cross purchased our redemption and his triumph over the grave on Easter morning defeated death. What preserved the Lord Jesus from corruption? He was kept from decay and he rose from the dead by divine power. "My flesh will dwell in hope. For you will not let your Holy One see corruption" (Psalm 16:9-10). The mystery of Christ's lying in the tomb on the sabbath reveals the great sabbath rest of God after the fulfillment of our salvation which brings peace to the whole world (Colossians 1:18-20). Is your hope in this life only, or is it well founded in the resurrection of Christ and his promise that those who believe in him will live forever?

PRAYER

"Lord Jesus, you died that I might live forever in your kingdom of peace and righteousness. Strengthen my faith that I may I know the power of your resurrection and live in the hope of seeing you face to face for ever."
Amen 🙏

FIRST WEEK OF LENT YEAR B

FIRST READING
_“You shall be a people holy to the Lord your God.”_
DEUTERONOMY 26: 16 - 19

Moses spoke to the people, saying: “This day the Lord your God commands you to do these statutes and ordinances; you shall therefore be careful to do them with all your heart and with all your soul. You have declared this day concerning the Lord that he is your God, and that you will walk in his ways, and keep his statutes and his commandments and his ordinances, and will obey his voice; and the Lord has declared this day concerning you that you are a people for his own possession, as he has promised you, and that you are to keep all his commandments, that he will set you high above all nations that he has made, in praise and in fame and in honour, and that you shall be a people holy to the Lord your God, as he has spoken.”

_*The Word of the Lord.*_

_*RESPONSORIAL PSALM*_
_Psalm 119: 1 - 2, 4 - 5, 7 - 8 (R.) 1b_

_*R/. Blessed are those who walk in the law of the Lord!*_

Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord!
Blessed are those who keep his decrees!
With all their hearts they seek him. *R/.*

You have laid down your precepts
to be carefully kept.
May my ways be firm
in keeping your statutes. *R/.*

I will thank you with an upright heart,
as I learn your just judgements.
I will keep your statutes;
do not ever forsake me. *R/.*

_*GOSPEL ACCLAMATION*_
_2nd Corinthians 6: 2b_

Glory and praise to you, O Christ.
_Behold, now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of salvation._
Glory and praise to you, O Christ.

_*GOSPEL*_
_“Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.”_
_*MATTHEW 5: 43 - 48*_

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS - BISHOP PHIRI

Catholic Diocese of Ndola Bishop Benjamin Phiri is reminding believers to be grateful to God for His mercies, graces and the gift of life.

Bishop Phiri has observed that people sometimes focus on the dark side of life as if God is not doing anything good for them.

Bishop Phiri said this in his homily when celebrating Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Ndola to mark the opening of the Curia after the Christmas and New Year Break.

“There is a lot of good that God does for us. Sometimes we focus only on the problems and the dark side of life and then it looks like God is not doing anything for us and yet He is. What about the blessings that we have? What about the families that we have? What about the job we have? There are many people who would like to have a job but they don’t have it because it is simply not there but we do have a job,” he preached.

Bishop Phiri continued:”None of us has died yet from starvation, what about the food that we are able to find? It is God who provides and takes care of us in varying ways. We must always remember to thank God for the good that He does, for the gifts that He gives us, for the families and friends that we have but especially for life.”

“God’s glory does not depend on you being alive; any of us here could have died a long time ago and we would be forgotten and yet He is keeping us,” he said.

Bishop Phiri implored the Curia staff to play a key role in the development and promotion of Ndola Diocese.

Bishop Phiri said Ndola Diocese should grow spiritually and physically.

NO BLESSING OF SAME-SEX COUPLES IN ZAMBIA

Catholic Diocese of Ndola Bishop Benjamin Phiri has affirmed the Zambian Bishop’s position on the recently released document from Rome permitting the blessing of same-sex couples.

The Dicastery for the Doctrine of Faith (DDF) on December 18 released Fiducia Supplicans, the Vatican declaration on the possibility of blessing same-sex couples.

But Bishop Phiri said local Bishops believes that allowing the blessing of same-sex couple is not right and cannot work in Zambia.

The Chief Shepherd said the teachings of the Catholic Church which states that marriage is between a man and women is still intact.

Bishop Phiri said the Church does not support the same-sex marriages because it is against God’s plan for humanity.

The Bishop said no Priest in Zambia shall bless same-sex couples

Bishop Phiri said this in his closing remarks after celebrating End of Year Mass for the Curia Staff and selected members of the Charismatic Movement in the Ndola Cathedral today.

"We (Zambian Catholic Bishops) have acknowledged that guidance but for us here (in Zambia) it is not opportune so we are not going to exercise that here. So for the whole territory of Zambia no Priest is allowed to give such a blessing to such an alleged couple because as far as we are concerned it is not a marriage," Bishop Phiri said.

Earlier in his homily, Bishop Phiri asked workers at the Curia to reflect on their performance in 2023.

"I think every worker not only in the Curia but also in the public sector, everybody has a reason to look again at how they have carried out their assignment this year. Have we done them well? Have we done them to the best of our ability? Are our efforts pleasing to God? If not this is the time when we say sorry and we ask God for his grace that we may do better," Bishop Phiri preached.
