Yesterday we addressed the causes and symptoms of anxiety, but now we are here to provide some helpful tips and advice on how to relieve and manage these effects.
1. Try to manage your worries â take time to understand what might be triggering your anxiety. Many find writing their thoughts down can help.
2. Talk to someone you trust and can confide in â a problem shared is a problem halved
3. Try some breathing exercises â these are key and extremely effective in helping you to manage your symptoms and find some calmness
4. Look after your physical health â sleep, diet and physical activity are all important to maintain mood and energy levels, as well as help your mental health
This , we are talking about anxiety and todayâs post is addressing the causes and symptoms of anxiety.
What causes anxiety? There are many causes of anxiety and some of them include stress of exams or work, starting a new job, moving house to a new unknown area, relationships, money issues, and much more.
So, what are some of the symptoms? There are actually 2 different ways in which anxiety can have an effect on you:
1. Effects on your mind (feeling tense, unable to relax, worried, low mood etc)
2. Effects on your body (feeling light-headed, a churning feeling in your stomach, sweating etc)
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 and the theme this year is Anxiety.
First and foremost, anxiety is a normal emotion that many, if not all of us, feel from time to time. However, it can become a mental health issue if it continuously gets out of control.
This week, weâll be sharing posts and a round-up blog that will address the causes and symptoms of anxiety, as well as ways to relieve and manage it, and some other useful resources for you to explore.
So, weâll begin with the definition of anxiety. According to the NHS (2022), anxiety is âa feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe.â
