What are your thoughts?

As a physiotherapist specialising in back pain I hear of so many people just living with this pain thinking that there is no solution. Maybe they have sought professional help without success but I have seen so many patients who have fully recovered after suffering for years with back pain thinking it was permanent. I use specialised techniques that most practitioners are not trained in and get great results. As a result I am offering an introductory 15 minute physiotherapy assessment that is affordable and can help you establish whether this treatment is right for you or to help guide you towards the best treatment path for you. This time will allow for a brief assessment of 1 body area so bear this in mind when booking as if you may need to book more than 1 appointment if you have multiple areas that you require assessed.
Bookings can be made online https://gallant-wellness.cliniko.com/bookings
Website is www.gallantwellness.co.uk if you require further information.

This past week has been a great week where everything seems to be a bit more normal. We still don't have a clinical setting but are
keeping busy with home visits and life coaching sessions and are actively looking for a clinic place to be able to welcome our clients into our space once again!! đŸ˜đŸ€©đŸ˜Ž

Strong women are not those that pump iron but those that are unapologetically themselves, flaws and all! And are not afraid to show up and be a pillar in their community, whether it is helping their child do their homework behing closed doors or leading a country in the public eye!! Each one matters, every little thing that you do is a contribution, is a super power to those around you. So stand tall, take courage and love yourself for who you are!!!

Clinic Service update and Life Coaching introduction! Hi ,               It’s been a long time since I’ve reached out and I really do hope that you are well despite the pandemic. As you probably know we closed the clinic doors for face to face treatments back in March and have unfortunately been unable to open them again so far...

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I have posted and as a result I have been receiving several calls every week with queries about booking clinic appointments.
Due to the current situation following COVID-19 lockdown we have still been unable to secure a location to work out of. As a result we will be limited to home visits only at the regular home visit rates which could be found on this page. I know that this is not ideal for many people but it is currently our only option. I hope that the situation will change in the new year and will keep you updated as to any changes.

Best wishes
Audrey

Despite the announcement from the government about people going back to work we will still be unable to open our doors at present and this is likely to be the case until July. We need to be safe first and foremost. Meanwhile please keep safe xx

Just to confirm following a number of requests that the clinic is closed until further notice due to COVID19. Stay safe!!!

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced physiotherapist for our private clinic in Plumstead, Greenwich. This will originally be on a part-time basis (a few hours a week), with the potential to build up to a full-time post. This post is on a self-employed basis and is mostly clinic-based but may have some domiciliary visits.

The clinic has been running for over 7 years and is well established and well equipped. Our Ethos is to treat our patients as we would our closest family members, going above and beyond expectations to meet client needs. We have a very friendly and approachable attitude while our standards are very high. We would expect the candidate to live up to this standard.

We require a candidate with the following qualities:
A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience
HCPC and CSP registered.
Ideally experience within a private practice and outpatient
up to date CPD training
Open to learning new skills and teaching known skills.
Good anatomical and pathological knowledge and good teaching skills to improve patient understanding of their condition and rationale of treatment.
Well-presented and well-groomed.
Good social and people skills.
Positive professional attitude
Able to manage and increase own caseload (clinic relies a lot on word of mouth referrals)
Excellent musculoskeletal skills with a preference for treating using manual techniques
Dry-needling, women’s health, vestibular rehab as well as other specific and complementary skills are welcome.
Good organisational skills
Good communication skills
Good command of the English Language.
Flexible with time and availability where possible.

We are basically looking for someone friendly personality and a good work ethic who could use some extra work/income. If you are interested in applying for this post, please send your CV and contact details or contact me with any further queries. All candidates will be interviewed prior to appointment.

07/08/2019

The clinic will be closed the week commencing 12th August. We will be open once again from Monday 19th August.

Always good to have backup of what you preach. Keep running runners....

07/06/2019

Despite some clients walking through the door expecting just this, it is the one thing that we cannot promise....HOWEVER I DO promise that I try my very best to get the best results as soon as possible at each and every consultation with every single client. My conscience won't allow me to do anything less...

This is still my favourite ....

This is so true. A description of the service i provide...i believe...

đŸ’„PHYSIO SCHOOLSđŸ’„

Just for a change, heres a controversial thought!

Physiotherapy schools and universities are attracting and training the WRONG type of student!

It’s no secret that I think most physio programs do a terrible job equipping young physios for the real job of helping humans in pain!

Not enough time is given to communication, negotiation, motivation, and behavioural skills!

Instead way too much time is wasted on manual therapy, electrotherapy and ineffective corrective exercises!

However, I also think that most physio programs are attracting the WRONG kind of students to start with!

For example, asking physio students to obtain grades that are equivalent to, or very near those needed to get into medical school is a just ridiculous!

As much as I think physiotherapy requires intelligence it simply doesn’t need straight A students!

Physiotherapy needs pragmatic individuals capable and comfortable with critical thinking and challenging the status quo!

Physiotherapy needs individuals who are willing to think laterally, and don’t always follow the confines and boundaries of the educational rule book!

Physiotherapy needs students who have perhaps not the best academic minds or results, but who have personalities and skills such as being able to quickly and easily form relationships with people in distress who are not always the easiest to form alliances with!

Physiotherapy is doing its self a dis-service by staffing itself with only the academically elite.

These academic students often feel disillusioned with a profession that has lots of uncertainty, personality, and shades of grey, and soon feel like a very square peg in a very wonky hole!

Physiotherapy schools are more focused on producing mindless faithful robots doing what organisations tell them, rather than producing caring free thinking flexible clinicians able to help people!

Physiotherapy needs students of all abilities not just those who have the best educational results!

And don’t even get me started on the issues physio has with attracting minority groups either!

Over Easter the clinic will be closed for a couple of weeks between the 10th and 23rd April. Online bookings can still be made for available appointments before and after this time. Just follow the links on here or our website. I will also still be available over the phone if advice is required.

12/12/2018

Christmas is now near and for the first time in a very long time I will also be going on holiday so the clinic will be closed between Monday 24th December and Saturday 5th January 2019. Clinic will be open as usual before and after those dates but please book in as soon as possible for dates just before and just after our closing dates as available spaces will fill up quickly as it is quite a busy period.
Meanwhile I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with lots of blessings. Xx
