Dear Loyal Guests.

It is with a great sadness that we write to you today.

The Borough Market Trustees have revoked the Licence for restaurant use and as a result we will be forced to close our Restaurant on the 25th of April.

We are immensely proud of everything our special little Restaurant achieved. Michelin Guided, 3AA Rosettes, ‘Very High Quality’ Hardens Rating, glowing reviews from the likes of Jay Rayner, The Spectator, even the legend himself Mr Alain Ducasse. Regularly winning accolades such as ‘Best Food in South London’ on OpenTable, a total rating of 4.8, and 4.9 for food. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the opportunity to serve you.

The journey has been incredible for us, we want you all to know that it has been our greatest pleasure to be able to look after you. We have felt the love and support at every turn. Our hope is we went some way to showing you what heights the humble vegetable truly can reach.

We hope to get the chance to see some of you in the coming days to make the most of our Spring volume of F the System, it has never felt more appropriate, and we intend to go out with a bang.

This is the second week with these beauties, they are a close cousin to the Alphonso mango, but in our humble opinion these Kesar mangos are the true king of the Indian mango scene!

This stunning fungi hailing from Serbia has a very short season, texture and taste of the meat it gets its name from! Now features on both our tasting and small plates menus right now!

At Turnips, our commitment to flavour and quality means that we only source produce from the best growers. Our courgettes are from Provence, and grown in open field and natural soil.

The result is an abundance of sunlight, and more nutrients from the soil which guarantee an enhanced flavour, a sweeter and a much delicate skin.

Whether you're making tarts or having a picnic on this Bank Holiday, consider picking up some of our wonderfully fragrant Tulameen raspberries!

An elongated variety from French producer Panache, these have a more intense flavour thanks to the way they are grown: the bushes are trimmed to sacrifice some of the fruits, which means those remaining get more nutrients.

Asparagus season is one of our favourites, and just like the rest of our produce, our asparagus come from the very best producers.
Hailing from the Landes region in France, these ones are grown outdoors. This means they absorb more nutrients from the soil, which ensure a fantastic flavour.
We are also excited for their English counterparts' season to start very soon, keep an eye on our stalls on the second week of May. 👀

Last but not least, a drizzle of jus to finish up plating. Dishes at Turnips not only taste incredible but you can literally see the love and care that goes into every single one.
