January marked the start to an extraordinary year, with our first day visit to the London Transport Museum. We discussed different ways of travelling with dementia challenges throughout the month and ended with a great Extraordinary Day trip. Our Members explored over 200 years of transportation heritage and enjoyed a delicious British inspired lunch at Haxells Restaurant & Bar located in Strand Palace Hotel. We've had a great time celebrating Christmas with our Members. We created 12 festive outings and activities to make Christmas at Loveday very special. From carols at the Royal Festival Hall and trips to Covent Garden Christmas Market, to fun at Loveday with wreath workshops to gingerbread houses. Plus plenty of Christmas cheer with parties and feast with friends and family.

As the season changes, bringing darker evenings and chillier weather, our Executive Chef, Matt Dodge and his team are evolving Loveday’s winter menu.
Slow braised dishes such as roasted meats, hearty root vegetables and one of Matt’s personal favourites, roasted celeriac soup, will be enjoyed by our Members in the coming weeks and months.

Last month, we hosted our third Loveday Webinar Q&A - "Living Well with Dementia."
This informative session delved into how to maintain a high quality of life for individuals living with dementia.
Dr. Chichi Menakaya, MBBS MSc, CEO of Annomo Health moderated this webinar alongside a distinguished panel of experts in dementia and senior care.
The experts stressed the importance of an early diagnosis and discussed some effective lifestyle factors to help promote wellbeing such as socialising, exercise, nutrition, community engagement, hobbies, engaging loved ones with care planning and the importance of personalising care.
