🍶 Happy World Sake Day! 🍶
Today we’re raising a glass to the wonderful world of sake - Japan's favourite drink! Unlike wine or spirits, sake is brewed from rice, giving it a smooth, delicate flavour that can really complement what you are eating. In fact, there's a saying in Japan - 'nihonshu wa ryori o erabenai' which literally translates to “sake doesn't get into fights with food”, demonstrating that it can be the perfect match for many of the dishes on our menu.
So there's a truth, but there are lots of myths about sake too...
❌ Myth 1: Sake is super strong – Wrong! Sake is usually around 14-16% ABV, similar to wine, so it’s smooth and easy to sip.
❌ Myth 2: It’s always served hot – Not always! While some types are great warm, many premium sakes are best enjoyed chilled to bring out their delicate flavours.
You see, there really is so much more to the world of sake, a world that we'd love you to explore.
So, to get you started, we're teaming up with the sake masters from *taisake to give away THREE sake-tasting flights to THREE lucky winners the next time they dine in the restaurant. Each sake flight contains 4 different sakes, and we'll be on hand to run you through the flavour profile of each, and suggest some dishes that would match perfectly with them.

Lightly seared Hokkaido scallops with a goma dare dressing, chilli oil and a tomato salsa.
We don't like to say we have favourites, but this dish is definitely up there! 😜
