The Italian Vine Tour series are events not to be missed. Hosted at Vine Bar London, the great centre of Italian gastronomy and things Italian in London, the series of wine tasting dinners will feature each region of Italy from North to South, pairing wines from each region with the typical food from the region.

Italy has over 2000 and 300 know grape varieties grown on its soil, many going back to the Ancient Greeks in the Soth, and the Ancient Romans in the North with some influence from Austria and other European countries creeping in. Italy is also one of the largest wine producer countries in the World.

Before Italian unity in 1861 there were seven independent states, either Kingdoms or Dutchies, each with its own unique culture, cuisine and local wines. It is extraordinary and gratifying that this wonderful diversity is still in place. The last twenty-five years has seen many producers reaffirming this diversity, and at the same time overseeing a great improvement in wine-growing and wine-making quality.

The Italian Vine Tour will explore one region at each stage of the tour, presented by the brilliant Master of Wine ~ Christopher Burr, accompanied by wine producers or wine merchants, taking everyone through this fascinating journey of gastronomy exploration. Dinner will consist of typical regional courses and cheeses, together with five perfectly matched wines, sparkling or aperitif, white, red and sweet, pairing honed over thousand of years of gastronomy.
