🚨 2024-25 HE New JNCHES Pay consultation 🚨
In five days time, if you're a member on New JNCHES pay, you'll recieve a link to vote in the HE pay consultation. It’s easy to get involved, and it literally takes seconds.
The HE SGE believes the offer falls short of what members need and deserve, and are recommending you choose reject in the consultation.
There is strength in numbers and we need as many members as possible to participate in this consultation.
More details, including UCEA's offer and campaign materials can be found here: https://unison.org.uk/hepay2024
Reminder: we have a branch meeting with members on pay at 12:30pm today. Please attend to give your view on the UCEA pay offer and for discussions on pay. Link was sent to members via email on 16th July.
If you're at the staff conference and have finished your lunch, pop out and say hi! We are in the cafe area

This might be the last motion before lunch. Motion 28. A Health and Safety response to a National crisis of stress and it's effect on Public Service Workers. UNISON Charter for health and safety launched yesterday. A campaign on stress at work.
Next motion. Union learning is Central to Skills and Development for UNISON members and Activists. Moved on behalf of NEC by Jo Tapper branch Secretary at UCL. Another role we need at the Branch is a Union Learning Rep.

Last day of conference. Couldn't quite manage to get the Universities in crisis motion submitted by Brighton University pushed up the agenda. Our NEC should still take forward any motions not heard by the end of conference.
All rule amendments went through. Two important ones, the NEC regional seats can now be General rather than male so that non binary or gender diverse can apply. Also our rule book will now be gender neutral. Back to motions. Don't make public service workers pay the price of austerity. All speakers voting for.
After lunch session. Sue on conference floor. Finishing off the Cuts and Funding motion. Then rule changes.
Coming up.to.the vote on the Ukraine motion. That was carried. A small amount against. Now on to Motion 45 - Cuts and Funding.
Palestine motion carried. Now on to Solidarity with Ukraine and it's Labour Movement. Another one divisive. Speakers for and against. Sensitive issue.
A speaker against the motion from a Jewish perspective. Quite a passionate speech.
Next set of motions is Composite D on Palestine. One of the Greater London region motions is part of this. The mover showed an agenda from NALGO conference in 1981 which featured a motion on Palestine.
Behind the photo call. This will be in the UNISON social media. Please share.
Guest speaker. There will then be a photo call. Jason on conference floor again.
