🌿 Introducing Our Steamed Aubergine: A Touch of Tradition! 🍆

Thai cuisine is rich with Chinese influence, thanks to a significant wave of immigrants from China about a hundred years ago. One delightful result of this cultural fusion is our steamed dish featuring aubergine.

🍽️ Aromatic Flavours 🌱

Our aubergine is steamed to perfection with soy sauce, spring onion, garlic, sesame oil, and chili, all of which play a big role in Thai cooking. The steaming process enhances the aubergine’s natural mild sweetness, creating a harmonious base.

🌶️ Layers of Freshness 🌿

The addition of spring onion and chili brings different layers of freshness and zing, elevating the dish further. Finished off with a drizzle of sesame oil, you have a beautifully aromatic and umami-rich dish that celebrates the best of Thai flavours.

Join us at Mali Vegan Thai to experience this deliciously comforting dish that pays homage to our culinary heritage!

As children, Gaeng Tay Po (แกงเทโพ) was our favorite red curry dish from our school canteen. We remember always asking for a second serving whenever it was on the menu. So, We are thrilled to share our childhood favorite with you as part of our new menu at Mali.

What sets this red curry apart from others is its tangy and refreshing flavor that comes from the perfect balance of kaffir lime leaf, lime and tamarind juice. It's lighter in taste and perfect for those warm spring days.

At Mali, we use mushroom meat and morning glory to create a wholesome and healthy version of this traditional Thai dish. And of course, the fresh aroma of kaffir lime leaf adds a lovely fragrance to the dish, just like how it did back in the school canteen.
Join us at Mali and experience a taste of this unique red curry dish แกงเทโพ (Gaeng Tay Po).

You may know that this week for Thai is an important week which is Thai new year or Songkran festival. A more well known celebration is water festival, where people splash people on each other. Perfect for Songkran heat in Thailand, but perhaps not in chilly April in the UK.

A lesser known but as equally important to us is “Bathing the Buddha” ceremony. We bath the Buddha with scented water as a symbol of spiritual purification and renewal.

It’s a celebration of new beginnings. We wish you all the best and wonderful time ahead.

Happy Songkran to everyone. 🙏🏼❤️

We're excited to offer a vegan twist on this classic dish “Son in law’s Egg” or ไข่ลูกเขย with our new "Daughter in law's dumpling" or เกี๊ยวลูกสะใภ้.

Why this Thai dish has such a unique name? According to Thai folklore, a mother-in-law used to prepare sweet & sour fish sauce to eat with sadao leaves & grilled fish, but her son-in-law didn't like fish. They stumbled upon boiled eggs, fried them, and tried them with the sauce. They loved it and the dish was born!

Our vegan twist with these crispy, golden-brown dumplings are filled with savory omni mince and seaweed, and when paired with our sweet and sour sauce made with soy sauce and tamarind, they created a mouthwatering blend of textures and flavors.

Try our new vegan dumpling from next Tuesday.
