Busiest day of the month yesterday - really cutting it fine on the last day of August 🗓️!

The team smashed it as usual and were unruffled by the demands of the post-holiday crowd 😌

Bring it on September! 💪

Spinning plates (and tunes) 🎶 Did you notice we have new ceramics at Fulham? Daniel ‘s modelling skills are being put to good use but we’re sure he’d much rather those skills be put towards promoting his album which is summer gold ✨☀️

It’s no secret many of our team (at both sites) are musical (and pretty talented at that!). Feels like a boyband is brewing - Brewstreet Boys, Baristazone, West Caff Life, The Cafiza Brothers , One Extraction 🎸😂 ok, ok, you get the idea 🤪

The coffee is flowing at both stores and we’ve even made a couple of tweaks to the machine at Fulham, so the coffee is tasting even more divine 👩‍🍳 😘

See you soon!

Back open at Barons Court after yesterday’s Big Fix and Clean and the team are pumped 💪

Coffee machine serviced, grinders deep cleaned and the shop is sparkling ✨✨

Big love to the team who put in a whole lotta elbow grease and also who spent a good few hours on our hardworking machine giving it the TLC it needed 🛠️

Come say hey, we’re open till 5pm as usual 👋

29/07/2024

Every hospo person when their rubbish finally gets collected 😅 Also timely announcement to say WE ARE CLOSED tomorrow at our Barons Court store for some essential maintenance 🛠️🪣🧹

Our Fulham (Hazlebury Road) store is open as usual and Barons Court will be back in action on Wednesday 7.30-5.

Meeting Callum (red T) has been life-changing for us and the baristas at Carbon Kopi Fulham.

He’s got his final Aussie rules match in London today before he heads home to Oz and we just want to say thank you to you and the team .london for fixing us (literally!)🩻

Some of us have suffered with neck and back issues for decades (baristas have a notoriously physical job), and Callum’s been an absolute miracle worker - he even managed to fix the whiplash from a dodgy theme park ride we went on last week.

It’s been a privilege to serve you oat flatties and we wish you all the very best ❤️

- Team Carbon Kopi

PS if you haven’t tried chiro, you really need to

Looking ahead to new adventures 👀 Happy last day to the life, soul and founding member of Carbon Kopi Fulham Susie 🥲

You’ve been a queen, legend, and responsible for a lot of the success of the store - wishing you all the best with your brand new jet-setting role 🥐🥐🥐 you’re going to knock it out of the park 💥

Thank you for all you’ve done and please don’t be a stranger!

IT outage got you flustered? Lucky we have the only accessories you need to keep calm, cool and carry on in this weather 🔥: iced lattes, red hot nails, new tattoos by ➡️ affogato version 🍨☕️

Many of you at our Barons Court store will remember Libby, and she’s done an absolute stunner 🐍🖋️for

See you soon for some extra ice, extra cool hangs and bants 🙌

PS 100% no judgement if you want to go decaf in the afternoons 😉

We had to laugh when the Brit in this photo was confused about being featured on International Paramedics Day 😆😆 “wait, but I’m not international”!

Yes, we get that there’s a lot of Aussie ambos in our shop, but we appreciate all paramedics of all origins 🚑🌏 - thanks for making our shops look busier and for the good times, we know baristas appreciate your banter 😉

So Happy International Paramedics Day 🚑 we hope you get your emergency coffee, after all the events of the weekend we’re sure it’s much needed ⚡️⚡️

The events of the week passed us by, but today (this weekend) is one dear to our heart - Independents Day 🛍️

It’s rainy of course, but the sun will shine soon bringing much needed warmth in our little corner and we’re always looking for a silver lining.

We recently chose to work with a new pastry supplier whose head baker, believe it or not, hailed from our original bakery supplier Hedone who ran into some hardship and subsequently had to close.

It was a gamble, but we knew Chelsea and Giulia were hard at work behind the scenes, making their product better.

Though small, the pastries are mighty, and we can see Layers embodies a fierce, independent spirit that continues to improve in the face of myriad challenges.

The strawberry danish is a timely one with Wimbledon on, and it’s ever so pretty especially on grey, rainy days.

Not enough people understand how hard small business is (“you’re so busy” is all they see) - and we salute those who continue to soldier on in these still challenging times.

We remember our regulars, and when our paths cross we still make an effort to say hello even if they don’t remember us - that’s because we value every penny spent with us and hope they will one day return because our livelihoods depend on it.

So if you feel guilty clutching your non-independent coffee cup while reading this, you should.

“Is it worth it?” is often the question we ask ourselves. And people tell us yes, and that we create community. But sadly, it doesn’t pay the bills. So shop independent , because it makes our lives, our barista’s lives, and our families’, that tiny bit easier.

🥐🍓📸

Couldn’t let an NHS birthday slip by without introducing one of our many NHS customers/resident medical expert Louis who, thanks to numerous promptings, got us to install these handy bag hooks at our Barons Court store🪝💼

Louis also recently brought us some Peruvian coffee which we adore and spends most of his time out there doing valuable research.

To all the NHS heroes out there, thank you for all you do, we hope you celebrated with us ☕️

PS thanks Louis and fam for the custom and always having our back 😉 we’ve got your bag 😆

Two years of this Queen 👑 at Carbon Kopi Barons Court ✨ keeping the mothership sailing and the wheels turning - thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin.

We remember interviewing out on the terrace like it was yesterday - and as we’ve grown, she’s continued growing with us as barista, then manager, whilst gymming, reading, studying and all round hustling 🌱

And today she’s killing it with the team, on our record busiest day of the year 🏆 Thanks for all your hard work chica - we love you! ❤️

What difference does a week make?

Turns out a lot, if you see how wet it was a week ago (pictured) ☔️ and contrast that with the summer solstice giving us that solar power we need to get through Euros, Ascot, Queens, parties, F1, Taylor and whatever else we’ve got going this weekend ☀️☀️☀️

TLDR there’s a lot on, so this is your cue to drink up and stay caffeinated (preferably iced) 🧊🧊🧊

Photos from Carbon Kopi's post 16/06/2024

How many children does he have??? Four, and two coffee shops - is it any wonder he doesn’t sleep? Luckily he has access to all the coffee he can drink.

Happy Father’s Day to our ultimate coffee shop dad and to all our customers celebrating today - we hope you drink all the coffee, watch all the tennis/football, eat drink and be merry 💪🍻

Carbon Kopi Hall of Fame 🤩 If you’re a fan of the show Trying, you’ll know that the first episode of the latest season dropped yesterday, and we could not be more proud to know the legendary Ellie directed it - we literally cheered when we saw her name emblazoned across the screen during the opening credits 🎞️🥲

Ellie is an OG CK Barons Court customer and we always knew she would go places 💫(maybe our oat cappuccinos have something to do with it 😉?) Here she is pictured in our courtyard with , fellow actor/creative/collaborator (spot her in Trying too) three years ago now ❤️

Go watch, you’ll love it, also another of our customers Suzy also wrote a few previous episodes - what a small world 🌎

The sun shines and it’s her birthday! Celebrating the one and only as part of the Carbon Kopi May birthday extravaganza 🥳🥳🥳

She helps keep the wheels turning at our Barons Court store and we don’t know where we’d be without her - happy birthday Issy may your birthday weekend continue to shine for you ✨✨✨

‘Twas the night before the Wandsworth Bridge Spring Fayre 2022 and not a creature was stirring not even a barista…😴

Of course, we were hard at work behind the scenes, trying to get our Fulham store ready, many sleepless nights were accrued — even parking tickets 💸 As it turns out sorting a parking permit for one vehicle for two stores can be tricky despite it being the same borough!

Would we make it? Or would we fail? That was the question that kept us from sleeping that night — the same kind of butterflies in your stomach before an exam, an interview, going on a first date, moving countries…. So many unknowns and so little known.

More whimsical musings tomorrow (our actual birthday!) 🥳🎂

Photos from Carbon Kopi's post 13/05/2024

From design to concept, on this day two years ago we were frantically trying to get our Fulham store open for the Wandsworth Bridge Spring Fayre (15 May 2022).

Swipe to see the last pic - things really didn’t look like they were going to be ready and the nail-biting tension was palpable 😬

Fast forward two years and it’s crazy, we’ve achieved so much more than we ever thought we would achieve and learnt so much along the way (thankfully the milk and pastries now rarely get mixed up and the alarm doesn’t get set off in the middle of the night as much anymore, a bit like newborns growing up and finally sleeping!).

Thanks for all the support - to our team, our customers and all our suppliers - you’ve kept us all going when we had our doubts.

Stay tuned for more flashbacks tomorrow - we love these trips down memory lane 🎞️

🔥Team news🔥 two years of Susie with us (a founding member of our Fulham store) and we’re excited to announce she’s now going to be our new head of coffee for both stores! 🎉🎉 Soak up all that vit D Sus - we need all that energy ⚡️⚡️

May is very much birthday month for the CK team - we just had the boss’, Fulham’s on the 15th, and today we have our very wonderful who is wise beyond his years, and a great fit for our Barons Court team having joined a couple of months ago.

Onwards and upwards May - you are looking so fine 🎉
and we have so much to celebrate at the WBR Spring Fayre this Sunday. Come party with us 💃🏻

Channeling sunny Fulham vibes for Bank Holiday Monday because if anywhere has a chance of catching any sun at all, it’s Fulham ⛅️ Open today both stores 7.30-5, and for the other May Bank Holiday coming up 🤸🏽‍♀️

Also, mark your calendars this Sunday the 12th - the annual WBR Spring Fayre is happening 11-5, and we’re planning some surprises in-store just for that one glorious day 🎪

See you soon rain or shine 🌦️

Happy birthday to this legend! (And hello and belated welcome Daniel 🙈, sorry we’ve been so behind).

Those of you who don’t know, Daniel is our Fulham barista who is the sweetest and most talented soul (you’ve probably seen his incredible latte art on our stories).

He used to work at one of London’s most respected coffee shops and we’re over the moon (also eclipsed by his sheer talent) 🌑 to have him work with us.

Within days of him arriving, someone left a Google review noting just how well looked after they were by Daniel - what a great first impression and here’s to many more 👏🎉

📸

This is Charlie - one of our most loyal fans - taken last year before embarking on a spring holiday trip, and since then he’s gone on to a new job🚀🚀🚀

Even though he’s in the office most days you’ll still find him nursing a Carbon Kopi cup on the way to work - now that’s commitment.

Be like Charlie 💪

Just yesterday .huynh told us they returned home to an empty fridge and came to us for sustenance. Another customer told us they saw a friend get off the plane and come straight to us (bags and all) and tagged us - looks like Charlie is catching on after all 😅

Doubting Paul from next door didn’t believe we made our own Mini Egg cookies so we had to post pictures of them on the tray for evidence - Happy Easter everyone! 🐣

We are open at both stores till 5 today and Easter Monday 7.30-5pm for all your holiday needs whether it’s post-boat-race hangover or a break from hosting 🧘🏾

PS if anyone knows why Mini Eggs are so expensive please tell us - so many trips to the shop for teeny tiny packets 💸💸💸

PPS cookies in Barons Court, not Fulham (we don’t have space for an oven!)

🐣 Easter Hours + brownie points for Fulham ✨

Yes, we will be open at both locations, 7.30-5 as usual every single day (even bank holidays) - that coffee will be a welcome taste when you can’t stomach anymore chocolate!

Speaking of chocolate, our brownies in Fulham have been flying off the shelf - and when a pastry chef who has worked for a famous celebrity chef brand (guess which one) gives it her seal of approval you know it’s good.

And scoring major brownie points, our Fulham store was officially busier (not just in terms of number of transactions but in money too) on Monday than our Barons Court store - guess it means Manic Mondays have now gone to Fulham 🤪

See you soon for your pre-out-of-office coffees ☕️☕️☕️

They say it takes seven years for a woman to recover after childbirth - well, the child in the photo is nearly seven now, and we hope the days of hair loss / hair pulling, spilled babyccinos, incessant begging for pain au chocolats and Bluey in the coffee shop basement, are behind us.

All we can say is, motherhood is a tough gig - and we appreciate those here, those before us, those who have departed, and those to come, and raise our cups of coffee to you ☕️

Happy memories and congrats to too (our former barista Sam’s partner and featured mum/regular from two years ago with baby Rudy, we watched her nail the baos and chase toddler Rudy around Mother’s Day last year, and this Mother’s Day she has a gorgeous new newborn to cradle).

08/03/2024

A bittersweet day for us as remember IWD last year we had a nearly all female and management team across both sites - and our customers still talk about that golden era ✨🥹

But we have to celebrate the small wins and Susie and Zoey twinning in Fulham is probably one of the sweetest and cutest moments - dressed exactly the same under those aprons and with the same fun, sassy personalities that keep customers coming back.

To the team and our customers - we hope you’ll continue to celebrate all wins no matter how big or small in life, work and family, Happy IWD 👯‍♀️

Coffee and chill is a must today,
For alas it is World Book Day,
Where parents fret and costumes fray,
And nerves don’t settle till that gate is far away.

So sit down, take a leaf out of Issy’s book (she’s an avid reader!) and disappear in the world of books, she’ll even take book recommendations too 😊

We hope you get some time to read today and it’s not all costume mayhem🦹🏻
☕️📖

Opposite Day! Monday in Fulham was one of the busiest Mondays ever, whilst Hammersmith stayed quiet, then the two stores swapped round yesterday with Hammersmith having its busiest Tuesday ever (historically one of our quietest days) and Fulham chilling.

What is up with the week? We can’t predict anything anymore, bring it on, weird and wonderful Wednesday! 💪

And if you’re wondering who poured the latte art, it was one of the newest members of the team at Fulham - Daniel, poured probably on that crazy busy Monday with just two people on shift.

Well done both teams for powering through - you’re legends ⭐️

Photos from Carbon Kopi's post 17/02/2024

Goodbye and good luck to our very own sassy girl Fulham barista Jin, who as you can see, is really just a big softie underneath that tough exterior 💪 🥰

We hope you spend all day cuddling all your fur besties and thanks for all the diligence and hard work, your highly original deadpan looks, and of course, epic coffee ☕️

She’s off to another exciting coffee adventure, and we can’t wait to see the places you’ll go!

감사합니다 , ありがとうございます👋❤️
