On the 26th and 27th of June, a team of 46 Marsh McLennan colleagues fearlessly took on Lloyds Charity Abseil challenge, setting a new event record by raising an unbelievable £50,000 for our UK charity partner, Ambitious about Autism!

Our brilliant team pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to abseil a whopping 289ft down the iconic Lloyds building – one of the most recognisable landmarks in the City of London. A huge congratulations to our team and thank you to all of those who generously supported them.

Marsh McLennan is honoured to be the first UK employer to achieve 'Autism Confidence' status from Ambitious about Autism. This achievement reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace for autistic and neurodiverse colleagues. Over the past three years, we've worked hard to improve recruitment practices, HR policies, and the physical working environment to support neurodivergent talent and ensure a more inclusive working experience for our colleagues.

As part of our commitment, we have worked with Ambitious about Autism to facilitate 22 paid work experience placements for autistic young people through Employ Autism, with 50% becoming permanent hires. Our colleagues have received specialised training to better support autistic team members, and provided additional training for colleagues in recruitment to ensure our hiring processes are accessible to neurodiverse candidates. In addition, we've completed over 4,000 hours of training time to increase autism awareness, and established a neurodivergent lived experience advisory group to guide our ongoing efforts.

This month, we organised a small event at our Manchester office to celebrate - and raise awareness about the significance of - Vaisakhi. We provided a selection of traditional food in the kitchen, accompanied by captivating decorations and informative displays about Vaisakhi.

Vaisakhi is traditionally observed in mid-April, and signifies the arrival of the spring harvest season in Northern India. It also commemorates the birth of the Khalsa, a term used for Sikhs who have undergone initiation or baptism. This vibrant festival is celebrated with colourful processions, prayers, devotional songs, and community meals, serving as a time to express gratitude for the harvest, celebrate Sikh traditions, and promote unity and equality.
