Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability
Medical charity providing rehab and care for people living with complex disabilities for 160+ years.
Today, we welcomed visitors from I-CAN, a new initiative led by the
University of Roehampton, for a tour of the RHN. The new project focuses on empowering care leavers to pursue careers in healthcare.
Weβre proud to support the project by offering an apprenticeship opportunity to participants on the programme.
We are delighted to have been awarded with the Race Equality Matters Bronze Trailblazer status! Designed to recognise organisations who are driving meaningful change to tackle race inequality, Trailblazer status is more than an award.
Bronze status has been awarded to us in recognition of the work we do to drive race equality, such as expanding our Staff Engagement, Wellbeing and Inclusion team, relaunching our Race Equality Network, and holding a series of events to educate, raise awareness and celebrate culture and heritage. Through these actions, we are fostering an environment where ethnically diverse staff feel valued, supported, and truly experience a sense of belonging at RHN.
Thank you Race Equality Matters and the independent panel of experts who have recognised our commitment and achievements to becoming a more equal, diverse and inclusive organisation.
Congratulations to this quarter's Celebrating Excellence winners! π
This is our second round of awards for our new staff recognition scheme, which celebrates our staff who embody our four core values in their work. Well done to all winners, runners up and nominees! β
Outside of clinical work, did you know that RHN Occupational Therapists also complete outreach work to other hospitals to share more about what they do?
Earlier this month, the OTs presented to Kingβs College Hospital, sharing what OTs do at RHN, covering where they are based, what their job scope entails and an example of patient-centred goals so that patients remain at the heart of our interventions.
This is just some of the work OTs are doing to ensure good continuity of care from the acute wards to RHN!
We had an amazing day with some of our patients at a live recording of ! π
This visit marked the RHN's second visit to for Loose Women, and once again, it was a fantastic experience. Thank you for having us back and to the studio staff for their wonderful assistance! π

Pixie brought so much happiness to our community, and for that, weβre forever grateful.
