Have you ever raw dogged a ghormeh sabzi?
No tv, music or Instagram, no human interaction. Just a straight up order for a doogh and this unique khoresht, torshi mixed in to cut through the fatty lamb then all washed down with the fizzy and salty yoghurt drink. LMK

£3700.00 raised for children in Palestine with our brothers from 🤍
It fills my heart when I see the turnout to these events, you really turn up and I love you all for that. It was also fu***ng busy!
For the first time in a long time, I had to actually do some work, at the last minute we noticed that we probably needed another pair of hands in the kitchen wrapping the sandwiches. I was actually planning on swanning around for three hours, mingling and taking photos but the universe had other plans for me.
What happened next was all a blur, I may have even sent a sandwich out without a lid (sorry if this was you and you’re reading this).
Anyway, a million times thank you and I hope to see you at the collab this Friday! 🍔

Growing up I never used to like Zereshk Polow, I didn’t understand why you’d sweeten a savoury meal, combined with being force-fed khoresht and rice every day of my childhood it eventually pushed me away. It was as if I was a duck being plumped up and readied to donate my liver as some sort of delicacy for the annual Nowruz get-together, believe me when I say I must’ve gone nine or ten years without eating Persian food unless it was a family gathering or an impromptu visit to my family home.
But like many second generations (not just Iranian btw) I speak to that are in their late 20’s/early 30’s, I came to realise that at some point something caused a little switch in our heads to flicker, and our mindsets have since shifted, we went from being embarrassed and secretive to curious and eventually proud of our origins.
I want to tell you more about how poorly information is passed down to us from our elders but I’m conscious I’ll lose your attention if I haven’t already, so I’ll save it for another time and cut to the chase -
I now love Zereshk Polow, it reminds me of home and if I ever miss my parents or crave a homely meal I’ll head straight to the restaurant and scratch that itch, immediately feeling reconnected.
My go to order: Jujeh Kabab, House Rice, Shirazi Salad and Khiarshoor, go try it and thank me later.
