Weekley Art
This page is to celebrate the life's work of aviation artist Barry Weekley.
A few watercolours I found in Dad's sketchbook.
On the 13th June 1944, Britain launched the first V.I flying bomb. This is an extract and a couple of related images from Dad's book.
Remembering all those who gave their lives as part of "the most complicated and difficult" operation of World War 2 80 years ago today.
Blank gift cards and coasters.
These are the end of the stock of these- £1.50 per coaster or card, or your choice of 5 for £5 plus p+p.
Sorting through Dad's aviation books- we have 14 boxes of them. If you are interested in any of these (individual items or bundles), then pop me a message and I'll send you more photos. Or if there is a specific book/magazine you have been looking for, then just send us the name and author and we will see if it's here- there are well over 600 books about aviation alone!
I've just come across a box of A3 prints- lots of images from Victory Party to Ghosts of Biggin to Jasta 30. There seems to be just 1 of most of these (apart from Victory Party which has one signed and one unsigned). I love finding a box of prints like this- as you work your way through you ever know which image will be the next one!
We have uncovered these collections of cigarette cards within Dad's belongings. Obviously not made by Dad at all!! but wondered if anyone knew anything about these at all? It seems a waste to let full collections go to waste.
"Victory Party"
Remembering all those who served.
Prints are available (although very limited for this particular one).
"Treble One Scramble"
This was one of Dad's earlier pieces, of Hurricanes over Croydon.
We have some prints of this one in A2 size (the largest size which Dad had available), for £45 plus p+p.
We have some cards, and mini prints available. These are limited as it is the end of the stock we have. The prices are on the images, but between 50p and £5 plus p+p.
We have uncovered some framed prints- some from the wall of Dad's studio, and some ones he framed to take to air shows.
They vary in size from A4 to A3, some signed by Barry Weekley, some signed by others, some unsigned. I have popped the priced down individually to make it easier, and all are plus p+p. Just pop us a message if you want more details or images of any of the prints in particular.
These are laminated images of Dad's pictures, with information about the image on the back- all taken from Dad's books.
They are £3.50 each or 4 for £10 plus p+p. Perfect for use as place mats or to display.
We have a mixture of images, including: First World War, Second World War, and a few jets (a lot more images than we have shown below). You're welcome to pick the images or we can pick a selection for you; just pop us a message for more information.
Dad only got one of his paintings made into a jigsaw (although he was hoping to get more don), and we only have 10 of them left at the moment. It really is a beautiful image, with so many details and can be framed once you have built it to be hung.
If you want to order one, they are £24.99 plus p+p.
Its nice to finally find Dad's sketchbook!
Thank you to everyone who has ordered one of these prints over the last few weeks- we have a limited amount of these left so please pop us a message to confirm about which sizes which are in stock.
We are taking a break over the school holidays. Any orders we confirm by 10am tomorrow morning will be sent out tomorrow, and otherwise they will be sent out from the 17th April onwards.
One of Dad's few non aviation paintings - Coronation Scot.
First and Last of the Many - 70th anniversary edition to commemorate the first flight of the Hawker Hurricane on the 6th November 1935.
We only have 2 of these available at the moment, both A3 size and signed, for £85 each. Just send us a message if you would like one.
As well as painting with oil on canvas, Dad also loved sketching. These are a few of his sketches of Pilots.
Combat over Orsett - A Supermarine Spitfire flown by Sgt E.V. Darling of 41 Squadron successfully attacking a Heinkel of 3/KG53 over Orsett Hall on 15th September 1940.
We have got some A3 prints of these signed(£85), and some unsigned (£35) although they are limited in number, specifically the signed ones.
These were Dad's mini catalogues, containing over 40 of his favourite images!
Moonlight Rendezvous - The French resistance help to exchange SOE agents in occupied France.
We have a limited number of A3 prints available- signed for £85, or unsigned for £35. Please pop us a message if you would be interested in one.
We have just founds Dad's collection of keyrings, magnets and cards- all made by himself with his paintings on!
Nearly there with sorting and counting the A3 prints. We should have some clearer images of them to share with you later this week.
We are working on counting how many paintings Dad did whilst sorting through them and we are already into triple digits!
We will be using this page to showcase and celebrate the life's work of Barry Weekley.
We are currently trying to get to grips with the volume of prints, books and various other bits he produced. For the time being, they will be displayed with the option of purchasing the prints which are currently in stock. Dad has signed around half of the prints we have in stock, but these are very much limited in number.
In future the plan is to be able to print to order from the website. However, if there is something in particular you were after please feel free to send us a message or an email ([email protected]) and we will try our best to fulfill your wish.
