About former Ethiopian Athlets

We, the former Ethiopian athletes, represented our country in international competitions during the 1990s, and made our country’s flag fly high. We raised the profile of our nation, and now that we have retired from professional athletics, we have established our lives in the UK. For many years, we have been providing free services to the Ethiopian community, both financially and intellectually.

Currently, we are working to share our knowledge and experience in running with other members of the community, and to bring together all Ethiopian communities in the UK. We aim to achieve this by organizing running competitions. Therefore, we would like to thank all community organizations and individuals for their financial and emotional support, and invite everyone to join us.

Our objectives are as follows:

1. To encourage the community to take an interest in sports and engage in daily physical activities.

2. To create a new culture of Athletics racing within the community through organized events.

3. To support and encourage young people who win races to achieve even better results.

4. To provide guidance to young people to develop their athletic skills and register in the club.

5. To offer necessary training and counseling services.

6. To follow the progress of Ethiopian athletes in international competitions and share results with the community.

7. To promote the benefits of sports and encourage the society to take up sports.

Our activities include:

• Adwa victory 5km

• The Great Ethiopian Run in London 10km

• Ethiopian sports and culture federation festival

• Organizing various community events.
