Two hands, two pizzas, one tradition 🇮🇹🍕

Every pizza holds a story that started over half a century ago in Egypt and has been perfected right here in our kitchen. Our sourdough recipe, passed down through generations, creates a base that’s light, crisp, and full of flavour.

Come and experience it for yourself at our new location, opening in November.

It was bittersweet goodbye to our home, a venue we have loved and cherished for the past 30 years, the place where we shared great food, drinks and even better company.

But our story isn't over. We will be continuing the incredible legacy of our founders at our new home on Venn Street (just around the corner), where even more unforgettable experiences await! 🌟🍽️

Did you know the Eco name was actually inspired by the name of the Rose movie written by Umberto Eco playing at the Clapham picture house on Venn Street in 1993? It seems only fitting then that our new home should be on this very street!

It's not a goodbye but a see you later...

This year has been a hard one for Eco with the loss of our Matriarch Laura Wasif, and the importance of their legacy has found a whole new meaning. We are so excited to be continuing our work of love and devotion with the wonderful community we have built over the past 30 years 🤍

In his youth, our founder Sami travelled Europe and became obsessed with authentic Italian pizza 🇮🇹

In 1976 he moved to London and was singularly unimpressed by the pizza he found there. Drawing on what he had learnt from his grandfather, Sami then spent years perfecting his own secret sourdough recipe, accounting for changes in the moon, water and even the hands that make it.

Our love wall is a cherished part of our story, filled with years of heartfelt memories from our amazing community. As we prepare for our next chapter, we can't wait to carry this tradition of love with us.

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news, Eco is moving to Venn Street, our natural home and the inspiration behind our name! After 30 incredible years, we’re relocating just opposite the Picture house, where we’ll be bigger, better, and ready to continue our legacy.

To prepare for this exciting new chapter, we’ll be closing our Clapham High Street location on September 29th for a few weeks, with plans to reopen in November.
