The last day of this years SKOLA summer school was emotional, full of joy and tears. We were deeply touched by our students’ presentations about how they enjoyed their time at SKOLA. It was hard to say goodbye to all of our wonderful students and staff members. We hope you enjoy the rest of the year and see you next summer!

Two more week until the end of SKOLA English in London’s 2024 summer school. This year we have welcomed some new and some familiar faces, from 71 different countries, aged from 5 to 17 years old.

The first two weeks at SKOLA were filled with joy, laughter, and a few tears. We bid farewell to our amazing students. We watched their confidence grow, their English vocabulary expand, and new friendships blossom across cultures.
Most importantly, they always tried to speak English. Thanks for being Ready, Kind, and Safe!

🎉 The first week of Skola, themed “Law: Fair Play”, was a hit! We're thrilled to see our students' English improve and their confidence soar. They made lots of friends and loved the trips too!

First day at SKOLA! 🎉 We were excited to welcome so many new and returning students. The morning was filled with engaging English lessons.

We covered essential topics such as safeguarding, behaviour management, student culture shock, the SKOLA way of teaching, and ensuring safety on trips.

Through interactive workshops, our staff gained hands-on experience to better support and nurture our students. This is how we ensure our staff are Ready.

Just 3 days left until the start of SKOLA English Summer School in Regent’s Park🌟. We’re excited to welcome our students from all over the world.
Our SKOLA staff will be in a SKOLA yellow T-shirt and have a lanyard. So students know who they can turn to whenever they have questions. Students at Regent’s Park will receive their lanyards upon arrival, which will help with sign-ins. This will have an emergency contact and assembly meeting point on.

Only 15 days until SKOLA summer school kicks off! 🌞

At SKOLA, we have three rules: Be Ready, Be Kind, Be Safe.

To help train our new staff in these rules, we have launched the SKOLA Online Self-Learning website. With 6 comprehensive modules, they’ll master skills in child protection, lesson planning, dealing with different types of injuries, and more.

The new online training adds to our safer recruitment, induction days, and Continue Professional Development Training.

We are hiring Teachers for our summer school in Regent's Park, London from 17th to 31st of August 2024. With over 60 nationalities represented each summer, with the vast majority from individual families rather than large groups, SKOLA has a special, familial atmosphere.

Advantages of working with us:
1. We offer you a flexible working life. You can work for all or part of our 11-week summer schools followed by 1:1 online lessons during the academic year.
2. We offer free lunch and will taxi you to school in case of train strikes.
3. We offer a comprehensive paid induction, both online and in-person, particularly in positive behaviour management and how to teach effectively. We offer CPD sessions every week through the summer to build your capabilities and can offer you the chance to deliver training, which can, for some, be a first step into management.

Please note:

3. During the interview, all candidates will be asked to talk through their CVs, including periods when they were not working. Proof of identity and qualifications will be required at the interview.

5. References will be followed up. A reference request will ask specifically whether there is any reason the candidate should not be employed with persons under 18.
6. Please provide e-mail addresses and phone numbers of at least 2 referees.

Staff are free to take their holiday entitlement during the summer so you won't miss out on special occasions. For staff that don't take their entitlement, they will receive an additional payment in lieu of any holiday not taken.If no holiday is taken, this is equal to 12.07% which is based on 28 days of paid holiday per year pro rata.

Good News: SKOLA English in London now has a catered residence for our Summer School. SKOLA Hyde Park is a beautiful residence for 12 - 17 years old, located in the historic and safe Marylebone area. It is a 20-minute walk from SKOLA Regent’s Park. Students stay in single rooms with shared single-sex bathrooms. All meals are included.
