Dodgeball UK
Dodgeball is the new rock 'n' roll, Dodgeball UK is the new Elvis! Get yourself (and your mates!) in Dodgeball – you can actually play it?! Abso-bloody-lutely!
You’ve seen the film and here’s your chance to get involved. It’s not just the dodgeball though, it is the Apres-Dodgeball, the social side of it all. If you’re new to all this dodgeball malarky then all you need to know is that dodgeball is a sport that anyone can play, however big or small, old or young, skinny or chubby, cool or uncool. We even allow people to play who have bad hair or Bon Jov
Classic!
Ha, who are these losers! Dodgeball is great. https://nationalpost.com/news/dodgeball-isnt-just-problematic-its-an-unethical-tool-of-oppression-researchers?fbclid=IwAR1CfMryP0TLhZj1MloGm8mQzOwQvwwvymK1-eiA_IssoBfc2Juac7unJDw
Dodgeball isn’t just problematic, it’s an unethical tool of ‘oppression’: researchers The moral problem is that dodgeball encourages students to aggressively single others out for dominance, and to enjoy that dominance as a victory
Fancy trying out dodgeball, or coming back to it after a break? We are running a FREE mixed social taster session on Thurs 6 Sept at Powerleague Nine Elms in Battersea, 7.30-9.30pm.
There's a bar right near the pitch.
Meet new people, throw balls at them, then have a drink with them... And then tell yourself it was exercise (it is too, really).
If you want to put your name down (can put friends' names down too) please email me [email protected]

Great news... we will be re-starting our London League in Battersea on Thurs Sept - with an on-site a bar!
Last Man Standing Winners were, for Week 5, Steven of The Human Targets and Alexei of Ball of Duty, and for Week 6 Liam of The Human Targets and Adele of Ball of Duty.
Congratulations.
After the last fortnight of fixtures, Human Targets lead the way in terms of Last Man Standing Winners with 5 so far.
Interestingly, though, the Best Performing Team in terms of Last Man Standing has been Ball of Duty, who had the most players left in the final stages of recent games.
Adele of Ball of Duty has had a throw like a bat out of hell recently, forcing her way into the conversation for Player of the Year. If she can just turn up on time and not have to play a fixture in a leather skirt again, this could be the case...
Last Man Standing Winners over the last fortnight were Bradley of Jammie Dodgers in Week 3 as well as Dean of Hunky Ducks (his third win in four weeks) and Steven of The Human Targets in Week 4.
Congratulations, enjoy your fleeting Facebook infamy...
Some Fun Facts from our last two London League Sessions:
Fastest Knockout for both weeks were notched by the same team. The Human Targets managed a 1:23 KO against Fairy Balls in Week 3 & a 1:05 KO against Oh My Dodge in Week 4.
During Week 3's 19:14 PM fixture, Hunky Ducks' Dean pulled off some heroics as he found himself alone against sizable numbers of Fairy Balls players in both sets of their 2 - 0 loss. Fighting valiantly against the odds, he somehow denied Fairy Balls the KO on both occasions. Well Done That Man!
Week 3's 19:21 match between Ball of Duty and Fairy Balls saw the return of Mike - The Catch Master. Part man, part futuristic catching machine that has come back in time to change the future by winning Dodgeball Matches, Mike was in such fine catching form that people have noticeably stopped throwing at him since.
Final observation for this Fun Facts post: Hunky Ducks, I hope when you hit the pub the beers are on the rest of you and not Ciaran and Dean. Those guys are the players to find themselves alone against sizable opposition the most often in the league. All the more stunning that they often hold out and deny the KO more often than not. Early frontrunners for Player of the Season, methinks...
And Finally, Congratulations to our Last Man Standing Winners, Liam of The Human Targets, Sammy of Oh My Dodge and Dean of Hunky Ducks.
I'll be back in a fortnight with more a double helping of pictures and nonsense, take care until then 😉
Some Stats and Notes from last week's League Session.
Fastest Knockout goes to The Human Targets who notched a 1:15 KO during their 19:56 match against Ball of Duty.
Moment of the Week goes to Ciaran of Hunky Ducks, who performed what can only be described as Dance of Dodges to avoid between 4 and 7 close shots in the closing stages of a set in their 19:35 match against Fairy Balls to deny them the KO. The standing ovation received was more than deserved.
The "Ain't Karma a Bitch?" award goes to Adele of Ball of Duty, who, after over-celebrating taking out Liam of The Human Targets and, to use the vernacular, "giving it all that", was taken out of the next game in almost identical fashion.
Final Note: Thinking you're clever and pointing out how the picture looks like me ain't all that clever as that's the EXACT reason I picked it...
Check out our new League venue, Downside Fisher (SE1). Then get involved in the fun and find out how you can take part by contacting us.
Congratulations to our first Last Man Standing winners of the new League season, Harry of The Human Targets and Dean of Hunky Ducks.
Congratulations also go to Fairy Balls who notched a 54 second KO to take Fastest KO of the first session.
And finally, last week's Last Man Standing winners were Will of You Can't Dodge This and Paul of Dodgepool.
Congratulations!
Roll on Finals Night... 😉
If I can be serious for a moment (and my contract states I'm allowed to be once per season), I'd like to draw your attention to the below JustGiving page.
As we all know, there was a terror attack in London Bridge last weekend, but what you might not know is that the first officer on the scene took on all three attackers unarmed and at once.
Another Officer has set up this page to raise a "beer fund" for this badass once he has recovered from his injuries.
All I'm asking is that you have a think about chipping in for this cause. If you find you can't at this time but still would like to help you could still share the post on your own page, as the website thinks a share generates on average an extra £10.
Before anyone asks, despite the current financial strain here at Referee Towers, I've found something to chip in, hopefully, you will too.
Thanks
Okay, serious moment over. Back to stupid music and film reference jkes and innuendos about balls...
