Today is five years since Gili and I took a leap of faith and bought our favourite coffee shop. We didn’t dream that Ginger and White would become our Blue Zone of Hampstead. We couldn’t have imagined that this little cafe would have such an impact on so many lives.

We have loved the challenge and as we grow, we will always stay true to our roots and the vision created by Tonia, Nick and Emma. We take no shortcuts, oversee every decision and change is always underpinned by quality.

We love the ability to be creative, it permeates into everything we do and allows everyone to make their mark! Over the past year, we have launched everything from Espresso Martinis, and Palomas to Croissant Cookies, Turkish Eggs and Blueberry Matcha Latte’s. We created Ginger at the Window, our take away hatch and in September 2024 we will expand into our brand new bakery unit.

What hasn’t changed is our unbeatable team. This very special group of people are truly friends who are family. Each individual person is vital in ensuring the seamless operation of Ginger and White. Together they are unstoppable!

From a young age, my grandfather Charles reminded me that “No man is an island.” This is from a beautiful poem by John Donne and conveys the message that no-one is self-sufficient and highlights the reliance we have on one another.

Ginger and White stands as a testament to this power of community. We have made so many genuine friendships and you are all why we wake up in the morning. We celebrate connection, from impromptu catch-ups to heartfelt conversations. It is pretty unique to be able to see all your friends in one place in one morning! We are eternally grateful to each and every one of you.

Winston Churchill once remarked that “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Thank you for supporting us and for being a part of this journey. We will continue to spread as much happiness as we can, one cup of coffee at a time!

Today is “extra mile day” inspired by the belief that doing more for others opens doors to new possibilities. Going the extra mile improves the results we find in life and allows us to make a difference in our community and our world.

Few people go the extra mile more than the brilliant chefs working in our kitchen. We want to say the biggest thank you to them all - some days the team truly pull off miracles! They produce the best quality, amazing, delicious, real food all day… and sometimes it gets a little busy :-)

Ginger & White has been our happy place for over 10 years. We love the coffee, the scrambled eggs are the best we have tasted and the dippy eggs are iconic.

However over the past few years, it’s become clear that it’s so much more. Ginger & White is about connecting with other people, a meeting place for friends and a community hub. It is a sanctuary from our hectic lifestyles and work schedules.

This is unique and important because people actually perceive the world around them differently when they feel connected and supported by others. Research has shown that we actually judge a hill to be 30 percent steeper if alone rather than with someone by our side. Challenges don’t seem quite so daunting when we feel human connection.

There is peanut butter and then there is Ginger & White’s signature smooth peanut butter, made by hand in our cafe.

We roast our peanuts in their natural skins and grind them down with a sprinkle of sea salt to the perfect consistency.

We have small pots to spread on toast, it’s loaded onto our Elvis sandwich, whizzed into our protein shakes or you can just take it home with you. Let us know if you’d like us to start shipping it too!

G&W’s peanut butter is naturally gluten free and dairy free and contains absolutely no palm oil.

Ahead of tomorrow’s funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to The Royal Family and to all those whose lives she touched.

For us, there has been no greater role model than Her Majesty. She showed unparalleled strength and an unwavering sense of duty during her reign. She was not afraid to make very tough decisions but had an inspiring ability to show tremendous care for others.

She was not afraid to push boundaries to connect with people and her Coronation was the first to be televised, despite Winston Churchill's advice to stick with tradition. She championed timeless values which we believe are crucial in the ever changing world we live in. Her contribution to British society is immeasurable.

On Monday 19 September 2022, the nation will come together to reflect. We will be open from 7.30am to 6pm but will be closed from 11am for the funeral service itself. We will reopen at midday following the 2 minute silence.

Earlier this year, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service.

We are open serving coffee and our delicious menu with lots of exciting specials over the four day bank holiday to mark this unprecedented celebration.

This month marks 3 years since we started running Ginger & White. This magical coffee shop in Hampstead has changed our lives and continues to make us as energised and excited as ever. We are so grateful that life is feeling relatively normal again as the last few years have been challenging for us all - and yet despite this, amongst all the fear and sadness, G&W continued to be a happy place for us and all our amazing loyal, wonderful customers.

We truly have no words for the incredible team who make G&W what it is - you are the lifeblood that runs through this special place and you keep us sane! Sinica, Ibi, Franz, Jozsef, Karolina, Andreea, Kryzs, Adrian, Edi, Vlad, Alina, Laszlo, Leigh, Zsuzzi, Bianca, Sara, Ella and Seb. *We are so so lucky and love you all.*
