🍇 Cab Franc like Cab Sauvignon hails from Bordeaux, and shares a similar structure and fruit to the grape, but with added spice and green pepper. Our Slovenian Cab Franc really packs a punch!

🙃 Fun fact: Cab Sauv and Cab Franc have more in common than a name! Cab Franc is said to be one of the parents of Cab Sauv alongside Sauvignon Blanc!

🍽️ its all about fresh and light meals this summer and a Vietnamese salad combines, spice, herbs, fruit and veg.

🍷There's only one grape to compliment the freshness, and spice of this dish and that's a dry Muscat. The fragrance adds to the dish, and the freshness of the wine cools it down

🍇 Cinsaut is a Mediterranean loving grape, that used to be overplanted. Today Languedoc and South African producers are showing just what the grape can do, when cared for properly.
It makes wines that are pale, fragrant and juicy with loads of red fruit like a Pinot! We love the Marmot chilled down for the summer months.

🙃Fun fact: Cinsaut is one of the grapes that was crossed to make the South African Pinotage grape!

🍇Pet Nat is the oldest style of sparkling wine, made naturally in bottle. It is unfiltered and unfined, with a very delicate fizz. Due to the way it is made, it is a fizz that really showcases the fruit and freshness, a bit like a Prosecco!!! Eg you can really taste the beautiful tropical fruit from the Bianco d’Alessano grape in this Aussie Pet Nat

🍽️This simple yet tasty summer dish is one to have on your picnic, and a pretty iconic dish at this week's Wimbledon!

🍷We love our strawberries with a Moscato d’Asti! The ‘real’ Asti is made in Piedmont from the fragrant Moscato grapes. Fermented to just 5% abv, it's delicate, off-dry and full of sherbet and clementines. It melts in your mouth just like those strawberries will.

I’ve always been curious about the mystery of how different environmental factors affect a wine, and now I get to learn all about it every day!

🥂What are you drinking at the moment?
I’ve recently fallen in love with Strange Kompanjie’s Cinsault. Such a juicy and drinkable red, plus is amazing chilled and an absolute steal.

🥂Where do you like to go when not at unwined?
I love Palazzo in Crystal Palace, they do phenomenal authentic Neapolitan style pizza (half price on Mondays!)

🥂What do you love about Unwined?

🥂What got you in to wine?

Working in the industry from a pretty young age. I worked for Sofitel in Brisbane, they did this huge lounge refurbishment & trolleys of wine were left over from the tasting. I took a bottle of wine called Johann’s Garden and when we drank it lightbulbs went off. Until then we’d been drinking whatever was $5. It wasn’t until 10 years later at Oblix I’d learn that the producer was Henschke - who are one of my favourite Australian wineries. It was a bit of a full circle moment. Selling wines at my first real Somm role by the producer of the bottle that started it all!

🥂What are you drinking at the moment?
At the moment it’s all about alcohol free for me as we are expecting our first baby! I’m loving anything that’s not too sweet - Squareroot make fantastic sodas and mocktails. I love their passionfruit mojito, I also really enjoy the Botivo with tonic that we are serving in the bars at the moment.
I can’t wait to celebrate with a glass of sparkling in July though. I’m torn between Henners, Andreas Bender Sekt & the Levasseur Champagne 🍾

🥂What do you love about Unwined
Everything. Honestly the concept is incredible. The wines that get picked constantly keep me learning. The team have not only been incredible to work alongside but also a massive support network. I started in Nov 2019 to help with a busy Christmas and really don’t know how to say goodbye! Every time a role has wrapped up there’s always something else to pick up! Kiki and Laura have been incredible supports of my own business giving me my first pop up in January 2020 and my catering is available in Waterloo & offsite private events. There’s been so much guidance and it’s definitely the dream collab 💕
